Christmas Trees will be picked up by Waste Management per the contract with the Borough on the same days as trash pick-up. Christmas tree recycling is also available through Allegheny County. Residents may drop off Christmas trees from Saturday, December 26, 2020, through Thursday, January 14, 2021, at all nine county parks from 8:00am until dusk. All lights, decorations, tinsel and stands must be removed from trees prior to drop-off. The dates of death ranged from December 5 to January 4. Of the newly reported deaths: one person was in their 40s. Two people were in their 60s. Six people were in their 70s. "Passing 1,000 deaths is a grim milestone that I had hoped Allegheny County would be spared. Each of the 1,011 people that have died were loved members of our community. Halloween trick-or-treating will take place in Avalon Borough on Saturday, Oct. 31st from 6pm-8pm Homes that WANT to have visits by trick-or-treaters should have their homes/porches well-lighted outside to welcome the costumed children. Homes that DO NOT WANT trick-or-treaters should be kept dark, simply turning off any outside lights (to make it clear to trick-or-treaters to skip over that house).... Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it is advisable to follow the CDC, State, and County guidelines regarding face coverings and social distancing during trick-or-treating.

If you are planning to attend our Halloween Event please be sure to RSVP by this Wednesday. As a reminder, ALL students will participate in the 5:00 p.m. event... (arriving at 4:45p.m.). Participants must wear a mask covering your mouth and nose (costume masks do not meet this criteria) and remain a minimum of 6 feet apart. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be canceled. Should this occur the announcement will be posted on our Facebook page.

The dates of positive tests ranged from October 1 to October 19. There was one positive test on October 1 and one on October 5. The rest of the positive tests are from within the last week.
