A newly published book (2019) arrived yesterday. It is an anthology financed by Urban95 Challenge and others. Urban95 Challenge is a global call for innovations to promote well-being for young children (up to 5 years old) and their families in their places where they live, learn, work and play. The anthology is a part of the open source project The City at Eye Level. The anthology has 69 chapters, sorted in the following sections: 1. Places for children 2. Stree...ts and playgrounds 3. Taking ownership 4. City as a learning environment 5. Children and family well-being, 6. Participation and inclusion, and 7. Attended a standing room only meeting at T. M. Pierce Elementary School last evening to discuss planned transition to another school facility while full abateme...nt and repairs to bathrooms are being done. The school district must be transparent and accountable to parents when there are hazardous conditions in their facilities. Pierce was on the closure list in 2012. It remained open. The school district borrowed $500 Million dollars to remediate asbestos and replace Pierce and Cassidy schools. We need local, statewide and national infrastructure funding to address the issue of aging schools. See more

We were thrilled to be able to provide backbone support for the Goats at George W. Nebinger School. The goal was to use the goats to help the students; 1.Observe the cycles of environmental inter-dependence and water management 2.Learn about goats and their role in maintaining native plant species and 3.Identify and practice ways for students to take care of their environment (stewardship)
