We are excited to host a modified version of the 59th annual Chestnut Ridge Community Volunteer Fire Company fair. We are taking many precautions to abide by C...DC guidelines. Please remember to Keep a Safe Distance while you are on the fairgrounds. We do encourage you to wear a face-covering or a mask to protect individuals around you. We did invest in additional hand sanitizing stations for your use by each food station. We will have a contactless pay option available for those who want to pay via debit or credit card this year. We do recommend exact change wherever possible to limit the contact between one another. We encourage you to stop by the Flax Scutching Fairgrounds this week and order a take out meal to support your local fire department. We will be serving several dinner choices, ice cream to cool you off in this heatwave, treats to sweeten you up, drinks to cool you off, and many more things! Please read the details below which will outline the weekly event: New Items this year: TAKE OUT meals Hand Sanitization Stands Contactless Payment Option (Credit Card/Debit Card/Apple Pay/Google Pay) ATM for those who need to withdraw cash For your safety, we had to eliminate bounce houses, BINGO, dime pitch, and card games this year The Kitchen’s will be open to serve you Meals To-Go! We will have some picnic tables spaced out at least 6 feet apart if you did want to eat at the fairgrounds. We will not have any picnic table areas covered by a tent, so please be prepared if there is inclement weather. Kitchen Hours: Wednesday 6pm 8pm; Thursday 6pm 9pm; Friday & Saturday 6pm 10pm NOW Accepting different forms of payment: credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay or cash! An ATM is on site for your convenience. Meal Options: Upper Kitchen: All meals come with choice of 1 side (Beans or Cole Slaw) Steak & Cheese Sandwich (and 1 side) Hot Sausage Sandwich (and 1 side) Ala carte options from the Upper Kitchen Whole Pepperoni Pizza Steak Sandwich Hot Sausage Sandwich Slice of Pizza Cole Slaw Beans Lower Kitchen: All meals come with choice of 2 sides (Fries, Cole Slaw or Pasta Salad) Pulled Pork Sandwich (and 2 sides) Hamburger or Cheeseburger (and 2 sides) 2 Hot Dogs (and 2 sides) Ala carte options from the Lower Kitchen Pulled Pork Sandwich Cheeseburger Hamburger Fries Cole Slaw Pasta Salad Hot Dog Snack Stands Ice Cream Milk Shakes Funnel Cake Cotton Candy Popcorn Baked Goods and More! Drinks: Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Sweet Tea, Water Westmoreland County Sheriff Gun permits will be issued on Wednesday & Friday evening (Westmoreland county residents only). 6pm start time. It’s a first-come first-serve basis on completing the application or renewal. Raffles We will be holding a 50/50 drawing and raffling off guns, prizes, and tickets throughout the week. We will hold a FACEBOOK live drawing at the end of the week for the prize winners. Entertainment Thursday: Parade starts at 7pmKatelyn Rose Acoustic After parade 10pm Friday: Garden Tractor Pulls Provided by Listie Grove Saturday only: Admission to the fairgrounds is $5 per car or $2 per walk-in Saturday: Katelyn Rose Band 7pm 10pm Saturday: Fireworks start at 10pm! Please maintain 6 feet while parking and maintain social distancing guidelines during the firework show. For your safety, please do not congregate with others and remain with your family / friends. We look forward to seeing you this week. We are trying to serve the community in a safe and healthy way while keeping the annual tradition alive during the pandemic. We appreciate your support of our all-volunteer fire department who is ready to respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, no matter what weather conditions arise. We rely on your support and donations the same way you rely on our immediate response to any emergency. RECOMMENDATIONS If you are ill, STAY HOME! This is one of the important steps to prevent the spread of any illness. Individuals with fevers that rise to 100F or above should be fever free for 24 hours WITHOUT the use of fever medicines before resuming regular activities or attending work/school. We must each monitor ourselves in order to protect those around us from illness. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces, such as tables and light switches, using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

During these tough times, we knew it would be important to continue with the tradition of our annual Fireman’s Fair that we have had for the past 58 years. Alth...ough it will be different in some ways, we hope the continuation of events, like the Firework Show, will spread joy and be a welcome reminder of our past traditions during fair week. However, due to COVID-19, we have been unable to fundraise as in the past, which has made it difficult to offset the cost of the Fireworks. Santa is coming to town! We invite children ages 0-12 that reside in Cook twp, Donegal Twp, and Donegal Boro to come to the Donegal Event Center on December 18 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm to meet Santa! All children will receive a treat bag filled with a toy, treats, fruit, & snacks. Thank you to Chestnut Ridge Community VFC for sponsoring this event.

We would like to thank ALL THE CRAFTERS AND VENDORS who helped make The Holiday Craftshow at the Donegal Event Center a HUGE success on Saturday.
