Veteran's Day at the Duquesne Incline.

The Duquesne Incline 03.11.2020

Taken around 1900, this photo shows The Duquesne Incline, Mount Washington, and the Ohio River. You can also see the Point Bridge, the W.W. Lawrence and Co. factory, a riverboat, and the Graham Nut Company.

The Duquesne Incline opened in 1877. By 1880 (the time of this drawing), over 6000 people used it to ride up and down the hill each day!

We hope everyone had a safe and joyful holiday! Did you catch last night's fireworks?

Raise those Jolly Fireworks! Please feel free to share this awesome fireworks display over Pittsburgh with anyone who might enjoy it! What a weekend for the Buc...cos! Nine wins in a row and first place in the league after a thrilling 14 inning win today! Like I promised last night, tonight's shot is the celebration of one of those wins and the awesome fireworks display over the river. It was a bit windy so the smoke got in the way towards the end, but I was able to get this shot early on in the show. It was my first time capturing fireworks over Pittsburgh, can't wait to shoot them again! There were also some great clouds over the skyline, which you can see here; more of those from sunset to come in the next couple days! Good morning, Pittsburgh!

Here's a great list of kid's activities in Pittsburgh that cost less than $20! (The Duquesne Incline is one of them!) Is there anything you would add to this list? http://curiouslittlekid.com//20-things-to-do-in-pittsburg/

Which Pittsburgh landmarks should no visitor leave without experiencing? (Besides The Duquesne Incline, of course!)
