What is genuine salvation? Many people profess to follow Christ, yet don’t display the fruit of that confession in their lives. Others leave the faith altogether, some after years of church involvement. Were those people ever saved?... That question calls us to examine the substance of the gospel being preached in today’s church... If you ask me the bottom line characteristic of a truly converted person, I would say this: the person who is genuinely converted, transformed, given a new nature so that they have exercised true saving faith. They’ve been transformed. That person bottom line will love Jesus Christ. Okay? It doesn’t necessarily mean that because we love Him we never offend Him. It does mean when we offend Him we hurt, because we violated that love. Christians aren’t perfect. Christians will be pained by their imperfection because it violates the God they love. Our fall studies begin this week for men and women. Praise God our people love to learn! We have added a new women's study on the Book of Daniel beginning in October, in addition to our Romans study beginning this week. The men will glean the rich truths found in John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress starting on Wednesday. ... Our teens are having a great time on Friday nights learning about worldviews. We are encouraged by the depth of their understanding and desire to discuss difficult topics. They finish the evening with volleyball, nine square, ping pong, food and fellowship around the fire! Cameron Buettel will be teaching and preaching at both of our services tomorrow. Join us at 9:00 for Sunday School and 10:30 Worship. Originally from the Australian outback, Cameron Buettel is a graduate of The Master’s Seminary and currently works as a researcher and writer at Grace to You. He also serves as a deacon at Grace Community Church where John MacArthur pastors. He is passionate about proclaiming the gospel faithfully and teaching others to do so as well.

This weekend the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC)and Dale Johnson ministered to a great crowd of over 75 people who wanted to learn how they can be Biblical counselors, the calling of all Christians. We are hopeful this was the first of many upcoming opportunities for churches in the Northeast to train their people to provide the ministry of soul care under the leading and guidance of their pastors and elders. (Heb 13:17) It was great to see so many chu...rches represented! What is Biblical counseling? It is the personal discipleship ministry of God’s people to others, under the oversight of God’s church, dependent upon the authority and sufficiency of God’s Word, through the work of the Holy Spirit.
