If you are travelling to or from Jefferson’s campus today, please allow extra time for your commute and be sure to have your ID badge present at all times due to travel restrictions in the city. Today, Tuesday, September 15, President Trump will be visiting Philadelphia to participate in a televised Town Hall meeting, to be recorded at the National Constitution Center at 5th and Arch Street. In addition to the visit from the President, several other activities are anticipated... throughout the afternoon and evening in the vicinity of Independence Mall. Road closures in the area around Independence Mall will be put in place between 1- 2:00 p.m. The traffic closures will be between 4th and 9th Street and from Market to Vine Street. Pedestrian restrictions will also be implemented in the area around the National Constitution Center. Other temporary road closures may also occur throughout the afternoon or evening to accommodate the President’s motorcade. The restrictions will be lifted once the President departs the area, or as conditions warrant sometime tomorrow evening. If at any time you feel unsafe around the Jefferson campus, please contact security at 215-955-8888 for escort needs to parking lots or public transportation. If new developments arise, we will update you via email and through the JeffAlert system (if needed).
