Hey everyone...garbage pick up for this week and next week will be on Saturday. Since it's a holiday on both days of our regular pick up it has been moved to Saturday. Please tell everyone you know in case they don't have access to the internet or facebook so that they can get their garbage out on the right day! Saturday pick up this week and next! Borough Halloween October 31st Mayor Judith McDaid has announced Halloween Trick or Treat will be celebrated Saturday, OCTOBER 31 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Children will be going door to door so all households that wish to give out candy are reminded to put on their porch lights. The decision to allow door to door collection of candy was made with the help of a Focus Group of Parents living in our Borough of Tionesta. All felt that parents and their children would unde...rstand the need for all family members to wear masks that cover the mouth and nose, to keep their distance from others and to carry hand sanitizer. Homeowners who are concerned about closeness to the youngsters, can choose not to participate or find creative ways that allow them to have candy for the kids, see all the great costumes, and maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet. This plan may change over the next 4 weeks based on State or Federal mandates. Changes will be in the Forest Press and on the Tionesta Borough web page. Together, in a safe manner, we will celebrate Halloween 2020, Mayor McDaid said.

Hi Tionesta Borough Tax Payers. Just a note to let everyone know that real estate, school real estate tax payments and per capita tax payments can be dropped off at the Borough office. There is a mail slot next to the front door that is checked several times a day through the week. The Borough Tax Collector, Rita Schaffer is "under the weather" and is unable to perform her regular duties right now. If you have any questions, please call us 755-3502.

Tionesta Borough Hydrant Flushing The Tionesta Borough Public Works Department will be flushing hydrants on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 between the hours of 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Some residents may experience dirty water and low or no water pressure. Those who experience dirty water should let their cold water taps run until the water clears. Cynthia S. IMPORTANT FOREST COUNTY JUNE 2, 2020 PRIMARY INFORMATION Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns and with approval from Secretary of State Kathleen Bookvar, there will only be two polling locations in the County for this year’s primary election. Voters in Howe, Jenks and Barnett Townships will be voting at the Marienville Area Civic Association (MACA) Building located at 149 MACA Drive, Marienville, PA 16239. Voters in Tionesta Borough and Harmony, Hickory, Green, Kingsley and Tion...esta Townships will be voting at the Harmony Township Community Building located at 95 Center Circle Street, West Hickory, PA 16370. The Forest County Election Board has implemented this change after careful consideration for the safety and wellness of our poll workers, as well as the public who want to maintain their right to vote in person. There will be safety measures in place at the polling locations including protective shields between poll workers and voters. Masks will be required for entry into the polling location and will be provided to those who do not have one. Gloves and hand sanitizer will also be available. The Board, however, would like to encourage all voters who have not already done so, to apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot. The mail-in and absentee ballot applications are available online at https://www.votespa.com or by calling the Forest County Commissioners office at 814-755-3537. County staff will mail or email the ballot applications to Forest County registered voters through Tuesday, May 26, 2020.
