Tenfold’s TLC program provides stable temporary shelter for families, individuals, and veterans experiencing homelessness. In this video, Roger Steffy, Director of TLC, shares how TLC practices fair housing by providing a safe, stable, non-discriminatory environment, providing an opportunity for improved quality of life and helping to end the cycle of poverty.

Registration is now open for the Lancaster County Community Vaccination Center’s limited public opening on Wednesday, March 10. The vaccination center is located at the former Bon-Ton department store at Park City Center in Lancaster. The center is offering vaccinations by appointment only. Officials with the Vaccinate Lancaster Coalition are reminding the public that the center will have limited availability to schedule appointments, based on the supply of vaccines currently... available from the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Individuals can register for a future appointment online at VaccinateLancaster.org. Click on Lancaster Co. Community Vaccination Center and then click on Register for a Vaccination Appointment. A phone line is also available for those with limited Internet access or other barriers to online registration. Individuals may call the COVID-19 registration and scheduling line at 717-588-1020. The phone line will be staffed Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Language translation services will also be available through the call center.

We have all been impacted by the worst pandemic in 100 years. And these impacts can be especially difficult for people experiencing homelessness including those living at TLC. TLC is doing amazingly well through all of this. Our participants, for the most part, are adapting and doing the best they can. Thankfully, to date no one at TLC participants or staff has tested positive for COVID-19. TLC has and will continue operating as a life-sustaining service seeking to keep participants and staff safe and healthy while also continuing to do all that we can to assist participants in their journey toward permanent housing. We are grateful to be working with so many of our community partners as we reach for the same goal of addressing the systemic causes of homelessness and helping those in need. Mike McKenna, president of Tabor, said having coordinated, interconnected services in place is key to designing a system that works. The challenges that the individual in Binns Park in particular face are multifaceted, he said. So you need people of specific skillsets all working around the same goal...s. We are seeking qualified candidates for several part-time Program Reporting Assistant (PRA) positions at TLC. TLC is a 5 story, 52 unit temporary residential facility in the City of Lancaster providing interim housing with supportive services for individuals, families, and veterans experiencing homelessness and is home to Veterans’ Victory House. The goal of TLC’s programs is to assist people experiencing homelessness to reach their goal of safe, sustainable permanent housing.... The PRA staff team work the TLC front desk 24/7/365. PRAs are customer service professionals who: offer a friendly greeting and a listening ear to everyone; manage the flow of people in and out of the building; ensure a safe, respectful, and caring environment for all; and report significant observations/happenings to TLC managers and case workers. We have some great news! Mollie and her family graduated from our Veterans’ Victory House program and moved into permanent housing. She was very determined to start her new journey and all her hard work paid off as she got the keys to her new home!

Several months ago, Christine Condon, a journalist, came to take a tour of TLC/Veterans’ Victory House and had an exclusive interview with Roger Steffy, Director of TLC, a former veteran participant, and some case managers. She was interested in shining a light on homeless veterans, especially in the area. She wrote this article for Maryland Capital News Service who wanted to take snapshot of how homeless people are being treated in America, particularly those living outside,... with nowhere to go. To do that, they created an unprecedented collaboration among seven university journalism programs spanning the country. This article features Matt, one of our former participants in our Veterans’ Victory House program, who came to TLC. With determination and working with his case manager, after six months, he found employment and he found an apartment. And later that year, he was given a 2017 Chevy Cruze to help him get to and from work by Faulkner Collision Center of Lancaster and the National Auto Body Council.
