The new hours of service regulations go into affect September 29, 2020.
This just in for Pennsylvania Trucking Companies! Pennsylvania Apportioned Registration expiration date has been extended to June 30, 2020 as per the attached document issued by the PA Secretary of Transportation. Please carry a copy of this letter with you in your truck if you are operating after May 31, 2020 without a renewed cab card.... At this time there is still no messenger service, no counter service at PennDOT, and no word on whether or not the Farm Show Building will be open for apportioned service. However, invoices are being processed and sent out either by USPS or by email. I will continue to update you on any news that I become aware of.
Truck drivers are currently hero’s. My eyes were opened when talking with a business owner and he relayed what truckers were facing. They are delivering goods... that are needed, necessary, or vital during this. They are traveling thru and delivering to areas with the virus. While over the road drivers typically have sleepers in their rigs, they need restrooms and showers. With so many places closed they have reduced facilities. The facilities that are open are not being cleaned as much so many times they are filthy. Getting food is a challenge. Concern they get in contact with someone and impact their loved ones. If you know a trucker or see one tell them thanks. If you see them on the road give them a wave or a thumbs up. And say a prayer of blessing and safety. Thank you to all the truckers who read this. You are keeping America running. May the Lord bless you and keep you; May the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. ’

Under the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018 (aka, the "Farm Bill") hemp was removed from the definition of marijuana under the Controlled Substances Act. Hemp-derived products are not considered as controlled substances as long as they contain less than 0.3% THC concentration. THC is the primary psychoactive component of marijuana. This also applies to CBD products which are rising in popularity as treatments for anxiety, pain, etc. Anything containing over 0.3% concentration of THC remains classified as marijuana, a Schedule I drug under the Controlled Substances Act.
