Transformation to Recovery 21.12.2020

Transformation to Recovery -New Life is Possible- Our ultimate goal is not sobriety. We focus on Building a Gospel foundation so that men and women can experience new life through Jesus Christ. Sobriety will naturally follow. (John Carlson, Exec Dir. TTR). Do not sell yourself short by believing the lies of Satan and worldly wisdom that merely want you to stay clean and sober while on this earth with no hope for eternal life. God wants you to have a higher goal of worshi...ping Him alone because when you succeed in that goal, you will receive both heaven and earth. (Mark E. Shaw, Heart of Addiction, pg. 6) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17) www.transformationtorecovery.org See more

December 31,2020 Dear Friends, To say the least, 2020 has been a very challenging and interesting year. The Covid-19 pandemic has changed life as we know it. However, our hope is in knowing that God is sovereign and everything works for the good of those who believe, those who have eternal eyes. At Transformation to Recovery (TTR) we continue to fight the battle of addiction and recovery, bringing the light of the gospel into the darkness of addiction. Our recovery mission ha...s not been weakened by the Covid-19 pandemic, but through God it has strengthened our mission at hand. We have seen more friends in need reaching out to TTR then ever, and God is healing our friends through the vessels of TTR. We have been able to adjust to the demands of stay-at-home orders and social distancing with Zoom meetings that have made our recovery meetings more accessible to a greater number of people. We continue to pray for all of you and remember that without your gifts of love, compassion, empathy, caring, and support the mission of TTR could not exist. As this year comes to an end, we are asking for your financial help once again. With your financial support we will be able to continue to be there living amongst our friends in need, we are not just for the addicted, we are with the addicted. It is our hope to continue to provide support and direction as the bondage of addiction is broken and lives are transformed by the Word of God and His Holy Spirit. Please consider helping us to serve our friends in need to experience this New Life for each man or woman we are able to serve through your giving. Your one time gift can be made using the following link or you can sign up as a Monthly Ministry Partner: http://www.transformationtorecovery.org/take-action. Checks can be mailed to our ministry address, 229 Moore Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148. All contributions are tax deductible. The absolute truth is that Jesus Christ continues to pour grace into this ministry by using You as His vessels! Thank you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed, behold all things are new." 2 Corinthians 5:17 Peace and Love to you all, John Carlson Executive Director, Transformation to Recovery 856-723-2543 [email protected]

It can be challenging for Addiction Recovery Supports in todays Covid environment. TTR has initiated Best practices to share with Churches and our Community. Please read the intro to this workshop below that will be held on 1/23/21, and please inquire via our website contact page if interested in attending John Carlson, TTR We are called by God to the mission field of the sufferings in addiction. As you are aware, we are experiencing an environment like never before with the ...challenge of Covid-19. The purpose of this webinar is to share the best practices learned through these challenges in which ironically has perfected some of the things we do. First and foremost, our unique calling is to bring the light of the gospel to the darkness of addiction in which the gospel unites us as a family. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Gal 3:28). We present this webinar anchored in the structure of TTR’s three-phase recovery process. Starting with the (1) Addiction phase that inquires on the immediate needs of our friends. Then on to the (2) Disciple phase which builds the maturity and growth of our friends. Ending with (3) Restoration which transforms a person back into the church and local community as a productive member. The unique challenge that is the focus in todays world is bringing the personal touch to the virtual scene. TTR walks through the best practices that are the answers to proper tools, knowledge of technology and enforcing rules and guidelines. Friends the end goal is for the people to experience life-change through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; sobriety is just a beneficial consequence of Godly living, and Covid has not changed this. Thank you John Carlson Executive Director, Transformation to Recovery Inquiries go to: www.transformationtorecovery.org

"Sin is a renouncing of Him who made me. It is refusing Him His right to govern me. It is the determination to please myself; thus, it is rebellion against the ...Almighty. Sin is spiritual lawlessness, and utter disregard for God’s authority. It is saying in my heart: I care not what God requires, I am going to have my own way; I care not what be God’s claim upon me, I am going to be lord over myself. Reader, do you realize that this is how you have lived?" ~ Arthur Pink 1886-1952, Repent or Perish"

You Are Not Alone. We gather weekly to support one another in our recovering journey. Our mission is to seek recovery in a unconventional way; hence recovery from Gambling Outside of the Box. This is a faith based recovering journey. Individuals are encouraged to personalize their recovery from the challenges. Using past blunders and mistakes as the stepping stones towards the transformation of God’s new creation within oneself, we use what works for us and share o...ur experiences as well as resources with one another. This is to build a strong recovery foundation and healthier community. www.transformationtorecovery.org Zoom Invite Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81338354790

Do you know The Christ? or is it self that you must promote? There is no Hope in only Self, have you not learned? Do you not have many examples? Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And do not call on the Lord? There they are in great fear, For God is with the generation of the righteous. You shame the counsel of the poor, But the Lord is his refuge. (Ps14:4-6), Praise the Lord! So Be It.
