To all STA Drivers and Monitors serving the Punxsutawney Area School District, On the evening of March 10th, Tri County Transportation was fortunate to officially enter into a 12 year contract as the sole student transportation provider for the Punxsutawney Area School District. This contract starts in July of 2020 but now provides us the official opportunity to invite all of the current bus drivers, van drivers, and monitors that serve the district to contact Tri Count...y Transportation. We would like to get to know every one of you, learn about your position, which routes you are driving, and give you all the information regarding T.C.T and what we will be offering to each of those positions. These offerings will be done in writing, so everyone that decides to join our team can feel comfortable with their decision moving forward. We are offering a $500.00 sign on bonus to any of the current employees who transition to T.C.T. We realize that many of you have fears and concerns however, we ask you to please sit down, talk one on one with us, voice your concerns and allow us the opportunity to give you all the information direct and first hand. Please contact Amanda Horvath at 724-254-4080 for more information. We look forward to continuing to provide safe and reliable transportation to the Punxsutawney Area School District as we have for many years. In the meantime, we ask that all of the drivers and monitors continue to work with your current employer to complete a safe and successful school year, and make the transition moving forward as seamless as possible for the students, parents, and district. Respectfully, Tri County Transportation

As it is not a common practice of Tri County Transportation to address concerns via social media, we feel that due to ongoing fears and concerns regarding the recent vote of the Punxsutawney Area School Board to enter into negotiations with T.C.T. as their sole transportation provider, it is at this time necessary to issue a statement. Tri County Transportation has been one of the two transportation providers for the Punxsutawney Area School District for the past 14 years. ...Tri County Transportation takes great pride in our employees and business. Our staff of drivers, monitors, mechanics and administration consist of extremely reliable, safe and dedicated individuals. We recently had the opportunity along with other area contractors to respond to a Request for Proposal of Transportation Services. After review and minor changes to the current routes we submitted a competitive bid to the school district. Our bid consisted of a savings to the district as well as adding additional transportation services to the parents of the district, in the form of after school routes that would provide transportation to students staying for after school activities to set stops near their homes. Our intentions are to employ every driver and monitor that currently provide transportation for the Punxsutawney Area School District. We expected the employees to have concerns throughout this process and will address these concerns through open dialogue. We will not hold grudges or hold any ill will towards anyone who voiced their concerns in any way, during this process. All employees making the transition will be offered a $500 sign on bonus and will keep their current wages. We plan to build a facility within a 5 mile radius of the school buildings so that the employees will have a comparable drive to what they have now. We have and will continue to hold informative meetings locally to give all employees the opportunity to discuss their concerns. We encourage all the current bus/van drivers and monitors that have questions, concerns or would like to discuss the transition to reach out to us and we would be happy to work with them. As we cannot guarantee that there will not be some humps and bumps during this transition we can guarantee that Tri County Transportation will make every effort to provide the community of the Punxsutawney Area School District safe and reliable transportation as we already have for so many years.
