UNDER A REST: TRINITY’S MUSIC CORNER Last Sunday we celebrated the Decalogue, singing How Firm a Foundation and I Have Brought You Out of Egypt (a hymn based on the Ten Commandments). https://soundcloud.com//trinity-memorial-church-how-firm-a... https://soundcloud.com//trinity-memorial-i-have-brought-yo As someone commented after church, the story of the Ten Commandments is an old favorite, and I remember reading about it in the illustrated children’s Bible that ended up on our restaurant bookshelf somehow. After the sermon, I played Deliver Us from the movie the Prince of Egypt, and for the Offertory I played The Burning Bush, also from the Prince of Egypt (the music in that film is great). We are still on babywatch2020, so this may be my last post in a while. Join us on Sunday as we celebrate World Food Day. We have some awesome hymns on tapand an anthem! Diana Lin, Minister of Music

UNDER A REST: TRINITY’S MUSIC CORNER Sunday, September 27th, we celebrated Native American Day. We honored Native American heritage by singing music in Muscogee (Heleluyan (Alleluia))and ancient Cherokee (Wendeyaho). Wendeyaho, translated, means I am of the Great Spirit. It is so. Wendeyaho is the Cherokee Morning Song traditionally sung by only women as part of the morning prayers, facing the rising sun, welcoming the new day:... Rise up early in the morning, wet your face with cold water, and offer a prayer to the Sun, with a dawning feeling of the heart. The creation starts with you. After the sermon, I played John Dunbar’s Theme from Dances with Wolves, and during Offertory, I played Colors of the Wind from the movie Pocahontas. We celebrated the Decalogue today. More about it in next week’s column! Diana Lin, Minister of Music
