Worship in 30 seconds!
Welcome to Sunday worship here at Union Lutheran Church. There is a place for you at Union! Let us know you are worshiping with us or share any prayer requests by filling out our online connection card! http://www.unionlutheran.org/worshiping-online.html Now is the acceptable time; now is the day of salvation! Now we are in the storm, the boat almost swamped; but Jesus is here now, and when we call him, he will calm the storm. Even the wind and waves listen to him as they wou...ld to their creator. We also listen to him and are called to believe in the power of God’s word in him, a power greater than all that we fear. The Sanctuary is being prepped for this Sunday’s celebration of the Transfiguration of Our Lord. The color of the day is White, which represents a Christ centered celebration, joy, glory, and the divinity of Christ. What is the transfiguration? Does the word remind you of the verse in the Battle Hymn of the Republic? Transfigured for you and me. Join us Sunday at 9am for our Facebook live worship to find out!

Tonight we gather at 7:30 for our Epiphany Celebration Worship. The disgusting events of today turn us and our trust to God. In our reading from Matthew's Gospel we'll hear of King Herod, the puppet king of the Jewish people paranoid of losing his power, and willing to incite violence to try to keep it. However we then hear of Jesus Christ, the light of the world breaking in to bring forth the saving peace and love of God.
Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy. For public servants, the government, and those who protect us; for those who work to bring peace, justice, healing, and protection in this and every place, let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy. For deliverance in the time of affliction, wrath, danger, and need, let us pray to the Lord. Lord, have mercy.... Help, save, comfort, and defend us, gracious Lord. O God, from whom come all holy desires, all good counsels, and all just works: give to us, your servants, that peace which the world cannot give, that our hearts may be set to obey your commandments; and also that we, being defended from the fear of our enemies, may live in peace and quietness; through Jesus Christ our Savior, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God forever. Amen.
