An absolutely incredible kickoff to our Virtual Holy Congress! Indeed we're a thriving church amidst this most historic pandemic. We pray continued blessings and favor over this college as His Grace, Bishop Melvin T. Baker leads us forward. God bless UPHCOAB!

Congratulations is in order for a new appointment made to the Executive Board of the United Pentecostal Holiness College of Apostles and Bishops. The Bishop Richard Mark Wolford of the state of Colorado has been publicly appointed by the Patriarch of the UPHCOAB on Saturday, September 19th, 2020 to serve as a member of the Executive Board and also its board secretary. Bishop Wolford has been a member of the UPHCOAB for 2 years, Jurisdictional Bishop of Colorado, pastor of a progress church (St Mark) in Aurora, Colorado and a husband/father for more than 25 years. We are so godly proud of both he and his wife and the work of the Lord they both bring to this communion. Dear Pastors, If you are having church services larger than the local/state max of ten (10) people, shame on you. The Ten Commandments say, "Thou Shalt Not Kill." The Bible also says, Count Up The Cost! If you are holding church services larger than the local/state max of ten (10) people, if someone dies in that gathering from COVID-19; the family can sue you and your ministry for loss of their family member's life. That's called, Zeal Without Knowledge.... ++MTB

Today we pause for a moment in prayer for one of the great Representatives of Congress. Rep. John Lewis. He has been diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. The scripture says in 1Timothy 2:2 that we should pray for King, rulers and those in authority and so I whisper a prayer of heal to Jehovah Rapha, the God that healeth thee on behalf of this quintessential leader and great states men Representative John Lewis. God we ask that you work a miracle in his body mind and spirit in Jesus name. Amen +++MTB

A Christmas Letter When you observe your surroundings in this season it become so obvious that we oftentimes miss the mark. The perception is that Christmas is about Santa Claus, gifts, and spending money that we dont have. We get so focused on those things that we miss the very essence of what this time of year is all about. Christmas is a time that we must reflect on the fact that Jesus was born and that he can to give us life and that more abundantly (John 10:10). I will ...admit that I had an obligation or two myself that I had to meet in order to make December 25th a good day. As a leader in the church, I will not become like some and condemn the things that we do this time of year. However, if we are doing everything society is doing and forget Christ than I have an issue with that. Its important for me to remind you that Jesus is the real reason for the season. No he was not born on December 25th that just a day that is set aside to remember his birth. Remind your children that it was not because Santa Claus came through the chimney that we experience life and that more abundantly but it's because God so Loved the world that He gave His only begotten son (John 3:16). We must not become bound by what society is doing that we forget the truth. So, I challenge you this Christmas to take five minutes of this day and reflect upon the truth and not the perception of this day. Remind your children that Santa Claus never gave anyone Life more abundantly and if we do these things we will never forget the truth. We must be challenged to become givers and not takers because that's what was shown to us as the ultimate example. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year In His Service, Bishop Melvin T. Baker Patriarch & Primate Metropolitan
