Meet Shana Savage, the new Asst. Director of I.T. Apprenticeship for the School District of Philadelphia. In her role, Shana leads the Urban Technology Project and its I.T. Pre-apprenticeship and Apprenticeship programs. Shana joined during the COVID-19 pandemic and has already made a positive impact in the growth of the program and the young people we serve. Shana's passion for youth development, community service and workforce development has evolved into a rewarding ca...reer in the non-profit sector. She has successfully managed workforce development programs for opportunity youth and college students, led volunteer and after school programs, facilitated career-readiness training, and built collaborative partnerships across sectors. In addition, Shana has five years of experience in government relations, focused on education reform and constituent services. Shana is committed to providing underrepresented individuals with the training and experience needed to build careers that match their potential and talent.

We would like to thank all the schools that have participated in Hour of Code this past week. In the School District of Philadelphia alone, 160 schools participated with 16,180 students, K-12. After meeting one another from different organizations we went to various service sites to volunteer.
