Here is some more information about the privacy and protection of young children online. Right now, COPPA, which we have reported on in the past, is the main federal legislation that protects the interests of children directly and specifically. Remember that if you own a website your Terms and Conditions must take into account compliance with COPPA. You can send us a message leaving your email address if you are in the market for updated Terms & Conditions, and a Privacy Policy on your web site(s).

COPPA rules are contained in the updated privacy policies that we prepare for our clients. Anyone who operates a Website should get an updated set of terms and conditions, along with the all-important privacy policy, in order to be safely withing legal parameters. With respect to children, web operators should keep in mind that those under 18 generally cannot make a contract that is enforceable against them. We provide provisions that require parental financial responsibility for the minor's online membership or contract. Read the article below for additional tips.

Privacy legislation is being enacted in at least 15 states that will affect how certain companies must fashion their methods of collection of customers' personal information and the right that consumers will have with respect to that process. Companies will have to provide specific information to consumers on the information that is collected and what is done with it. Consumers may have a right to "opt out" or tell a Website not to sell that person's personal information. The... California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") is set to take effect on Jan. 1, 2020 and it will give these types of rights to consumers in that state. Most of the laws being created in other states are following the contours of the California law. Violations of the law carry stiff monetary penalties issued by the California Attorney General. Companies not located in California can be subject to the law by handling the personal information and/or dealing with customers who reside in California. The law does not apply to all businesses but it is generally recommended that a company comply with the law's provisions to be safe at this point in time. Also, it appears that California's law will generally be the "gold standard" for a model to follow. At least, that will be the case until the U.S. Congress comes out with a similar law applicable to all states and all businesses. USLawdesk specializes in writing up privacy policies for Website owners. You may communicate with us about your Privacy Policy needs, as well as obtaining a set of Terms and Conditions. Business owners should view this as an organic process that will evolve with changing circumstances and standards. Therefore, you may want to sign up with us for regular future updates and modifications to your privacy policy after the main document is put in place. This may be a wise thing to do because it is certain that the applications of this law will change on a fairly regular basis in the coming months and years. See more

We in the USA obviously live in sick times. A sociopathic criminal thug has been elected in a foreign- inspired coup. Youngsters go on killing sprees with combat weapons that can mow down dozens of people within minutes. Hundreds of threats are being called into schools or reported daily. The criminal leader, who got over $30 million from the gun lobby, wants to arm the country’s teachers so that our schools will be true killing fields. Money is flowing hand over fist to t...he rich while health care is trashed, food stamps turned into doggie bags of humiliation, and our investments in Medicare and social security are being eyed by the vultures as welfare that must be reduced to stop the deficit. We live under the most nasty, evil, and incredibly dangerous executive-congressional conspiracy of modern times. It is the most corrupt government in the history of the USA. It is becoming an environment of survival of the fittest, which would make our founders ashamed of what they created. In the next 10 months, we can work our fannies off to elect Democrats in November and take back the House and the Senate. That is this country’s only hope for survival; anything less will leave us vulnerable to continued usurpation of our freedoms and our rights. See more

The following article is copyrighted to John Keller, J.D., all rights reserved, 2018. The following free information pretty well sums up the framework for improving your credit standing and credit score. If you follow it, you will increase your score steadily and gradually over the next 6 to 24 months. This is the same procedure followed by the credit repair companies to improve your credit rating on your behalf. U.S. Lawdesk is experienced in credit improvement procedures a...Continue reading

by John J. Keller This is the first time that a morally corrupt and unpatriotic party in Congress has wholeheartedly supported a ranting sociopathic lunatic of a president. It is probably also the first time that we have had to contend with such an extreme example of outright mental illness in the office. It thus qualifies as the most dangerous crisis ever faced by our besieged democracy. My own belief is that the conspiracy of Russian mobsters, Trump racketeers, and internat...ional oligarchs, has funneled financial benefits and economic largess into the coffers of many key Republican lawmakers. I believe that they are laughing all the way to the bank. One example: Sen. Lindsay Graham of Texas: he was always forthright about Trump, criticized him and was a spark of honesty in the Senate. Trump had harassed and humiliated him in the primaries. Graham had always spoken up against Russian interference and was a long-time foe of Russian aggression. One morning I wake up to hear that Graham is PLAYING GOLF WITH TRUMP and that was it. From that point on, he has had nothing but unabashed love and respect for our mentally deranged, despotic leader. The two are swapping spit and taking long walks in the moonlight. Another major example: Bob Corker went from a Trump hater to a Trump groupie overnight. I don't think a mere potential tax write-off does it. I believe he got some sparkly gold stars from the Russian good fairy one night recently. What changes a fighter to a speechless slave in a matter of hours? You fill in the blanks. Remember, when Nixon engaged in excessive fraudulent maneuverings against democratic normalcy, the Congress came forward and stood up for the integrity of our government and the sanctity of the democracy. Republicans found some backbone and became patriots. The current group are the most greedy, unpatriotic and criminally-inclined group of racketeers ever brought together as a group in Washington, D.C. They are also not a bright group of people. As we head for a new civil war in the United States, we can only fervently hope and work toward bringing the curtain down on the usurpers of honesty, justice, fairness and our communal ethic, before they make it necessary to take to the streets. Make no mistake: if Trump fires Mueller or takes similar action to derail the investigation, there are people and groups all across this land who are preparing for aggressive civil disobedience in all quarters of society. At least that is what I read. The obstruction of the investigation will mean that our government has fallen apart. That will bring the walls of patience down for most Americans.

ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS PRIVACY ACT OF 1986 This was enacted in 1986. The Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) extended the prohibition of government wiretap laws from phone lines to computers. The law governs everything from email to instant messages to cloud storage files. This is theoretically a good law because it tries to cut down on the government conducting unreasonable searches and seizures. It is supposed to be preventing wiretapping of computer communicati...ons and files. However, it was written before the World Wide Web was invented so it’s now way out of date. For example, ECPA mandates that an online communication or file that’s held by a third-party (like Google, Facebook, or Dropbox) for more than 180 days is abandoned, since, at the time it was written, Web-based email was still a novelty. But because of this provision, your six-month-old communications and files may be accessed by the courts with only a subpoena rather than a probable-cause warrant. This has allowed law enforcement agents to gain access to the last three years of anyone's email communications as a routine part of an investigation. Bottom line: Congress, which is currently dysfunctional, must update and fix this law to make it modern and protective rather than intrusive of civil rights. The 180-day abandonment provision must be eliminated, which would, for example, require police and prosecutors to obtain a warrant before snooping your chat logs.
