It may be gloomy out, but it’s bright and cheery at Vickie’s Angels headquarters in New Cumberland! Come see us from 12-3 today as we hand out presents to our Vickie’s Angels families. We have Christmas carols and holiday cheer. We are accepting drive thu donations and taking photos in our real one horse open sleigh! ... Give a little...help a lot!
Will you join us on Saturday as we spread holiday cheer? Across the past few months local business and patrons have been donating holiday gifts for children whose parents are battling cancer. Many of these families feared Santa wouldn’t be able to make a trip to their house as finances are tight. Our local community chipped in to make sure our Vickie’s Angels families would still have a little holiday magic. We will be presenting these gifts on Saturday at Vickie’s Angels H...eadquarters in New Cumberland from 12pm-3pm. If you are in downtown New Cumberland drive by and give us a beep! If not, we’ll be streaming live on Facebook! A special shout of to our sponsors for making this all happen. Thank you McKonly & Asbury, LLP, Select Medical, The Medicine Shoppe- Mechanicsburg, PA, Sass Salon & Day Spa, and Vickie's Angel Foundation staff for your support and generosity!!!!

Did you know that according to a Harvard study people that give to others, regardless of income, were decidedly happier than those who spent money on themselves? Read this article to learn more about the science of generosity and why giving makes you so happy. Happy Monday!
UPDATE! Last week, we shared a story about Dale who was recently diagnosed with advanced mouth cancer and needed dental work before his treatment could begin. Vickie’s Angels set Dale up with Dr. Capozzi at Capozzi Dental for an appointment on Monday. After Dale’s appointment, Dr. Capozzi called to let us know that they would not only be able to treat Dale, but will be sponsoring all of the dental work AND replacement teeth! Thank you Capozzi Dental for making central PA a more compassionate community. We are so grateful to have neighbors like Dr. Capozzi and his team.
Welcome to Thanksgiving week! Tune in this week to hear moments of gratitude, generosity, and thankfulness from the Vickie’s Angels family. To kick off the week, we would like to thank YOU our loyal Vickie’s Angels donors. Without your support across the past 18 years none of this would be possible. Here is to the next 18!
Welcome back to $5 Dollar Friday! During this week’s Tuesday’s with Mickey we spoke with six families financially burdened while fight cancer. Here is one man’s story: Dale was recently diagnosed with advanced mouth cancer. Before treatment can begin he needs his teeth extracted. The projected dental bills are in thousands and he just can’t afford it. Without the teeth removed he cannot begin his cancer treatment. We were able to set up a dental appointment for Monday an...d cover the initial costs. Dale was taken back by the speed and compassion he received from Vickie’s Angels. He said, I called 3 other places and no one could help. Today, on $5 Friday, will you consider donating just $5 to support our lifesaving mission for Central PA families battling cancer? Donate on our website: https://bit.ly/3dy6MbD Or donate here on Facebook! As always, 100% of your donation goes to neighbors like Dale. MESSAGE FROM MICKEY: We started this year with a goal of raising $200,000 in 2020. Like everyone else, we never could’ve guessed what 2020 had in store for us. Vickie’s Angels fundraises through events and like most things this year they’ve been cancelled. Amazingly, we were able to bring in over $100,000 dollars at our annual Vickie’s Angel Walk. We are so grateful our community was able to come together in the spirit of helping others. Cancer doesn’t stop because of a pande...mic. Our neighbors battling cancer need us more now than ever. As we continue to see donations come in from virtual walks and online donations we would like to take a moment to say thank you. As always, 100% of your donation goes to local families fighting cancer. Onward and upward together helping others, Mickey Minnich, Founder and CEO
Welcome to Tuesday’s with Mickey. This is how we do what we do! Every Tuesday Team Angels meets to review applications and call families who are battling cancer. We review their needs and quickly assess how we can help. The overwhelming response we hear is, Wow, I can’t believe you can help me today. I called multiple other places and they said they could get back to me in 3 weeks or a month. I can’t wait that long.... Over the next few Friday’s we will share stories from Our Tuesday’s with Mickey so you can see your donations in action. Stay Tuned.
UPDATE: We are blown away from the response from our first ever $5 Dollar Friday. We were able to raise over $800 (!!!) which will go toward GIANT gift cards to keep food on the table to those finically impacted while battling cancer. THANK YOU for the donations, shares and likes. While Mickey, our founder and fearless leader, was sitting at Nick's 114 Cafe on Friday two different diners saw the Facebook post and walked over to donate $5 dollars to the cause. What an amazin...g community we have! Stay tuned for more VAF impact stories and opportunities to spread the word!

Your donation goes toward groceries, heating bills, rents and more to local families in need. Thank you for all you do to support Central PA neighbors, families and friends fighting cancer! Vickie’s Angel Foundation has been a godsend to us. I thought it wasn’t real at first. They have helped us with our mortgage payment when we really needed it. When a cancerous tumor was found on Greg’s throat he and his wife Jan knew they were in for a fight. A single radioactive iodine pill cost $18,000. They drained their IRA to help cover costs, but the bills kept coming. Thanks to donors like you Greg is focusing on his health and getting well. ...
