The crisis had just started as we began our trek toward our vacation stay here at Camelback. Just before we arrived it was announced that the ski resort would be closed and shortly afterwards most of the community had shut down. We were not sure what our options were and so I called Marc to discuss the...m. He was very gracious and offered to refund our money in full or to work with us if we decided to stay for part or all of the trip. We decided to at least check it out and Marc offered us several alternative plans to do since the lodge had closed. We ended up mostly just hanging out at the house enjoying each other’s company. It ended up being one of our best vacations ever. The house was a big part of this due to its size and comfort. It is a beautiful place with lots of room to hang out together while also offering room to get away to be by ones self. The surrounding area was peaceful and beautiful. The house itself is huge - 4 floors (including the loft bedroom). Spacious leaving and dining area, fireplace, balcony with BBQ area. Every room has its own AC/Heat controller. Ahhhh! where to start, so I planned a trip for my 12 year old son's birthday at Aquatopia (rather last minute too). We visit the Poconos several times per year and I was tired of staying in crammed hotel rooms, it especially wasn't an option this time as we had several friends and family joining. We sear...ched around (had a double booking mishap in between too) and eventually fell in love with Marc and Clara's home! It was perfect! It slept 12 of us very comfortably. It was spacious where the kids could play and hang out in the basement area, we had space to cook and feed the kids easily, the house is family friendly in that it has four levels for people to have privacy if needed, space and/or merely hangout together in the main living area. Marc was a saving grace! I literally confirmed my booking within a couple days of our actual trip, as our previous accommodations fell through (thank goodness they did!)- Marc was super responsive and quick (thankfully because I was super anxious about not being able to book a place). He is so kind, informative and knowledgeable of the area. He helped us figure out where to feed a bunch of pre-teens affordably, fun activities, affordable access to the water park and just overall great info. We checked in with Marc when we arrived and before we left. He ensured our stay was great and welcomed us back. I literally do not think we will stay anywhere else in the Poconos again!! This was an excellent property for a group or family that needs space. We were two families coming together with four adults and four toddlers under 4. There were plenty of roomy bedrooms and an array of toddler equipment provided (highchairs, baby gates, pack and play, etc) that made our stay so much nicer - and safer given the 3 stairways. It was wonderful to be provided with so many basics that are often not included in rentals (laundry detergent, dish soaps, paper goods, plenty of fans, etc). The location was within 25 minutes of everything we wanted to visit. The community pool was cold but it was a good size. I can't say enough about how amazing the owner was with any of our questions or requests! I have never rented from someone so responsive and available. We really appreciated this aspect!
