A special Senior Shoutout for our longest active SYZter! Senior Spotlight: Maria "A3revistad" Djogova, #28 Major: Biochemistry... Sigma Positions Held: Philanthropy chair, fundraising chair, secretary, president, event chair, PE Favorite Sigma Memory: Any Road trips: one comes to mind where we had a volunteer early in the morning but a social event/party the night before so we stayed the night over (I think 6 girls) at Liz Suizzo’s house in Philly. Didn’t sleep at all but very memorable. Future Plans: Working in the pharmaceutical industry Advice: Sigma gives you a chance to really grow and take on positions/planning that can be applied to many different fields. It can get stressful, but enjoy the ride because college is short (even though I’ve been here long hehe). See more

Senior Spotlight: Lauren "Korbellani" Sum, #47 Major: Communications & Spanish Language and Literature Sigma Positions Held: President, Vice President, Secretary, Central Council/MGC Representative, Cultural/Education Chair, Fundraising Chair, Mid-Atlantic Regional Rally Chair, Public Relations Chair, Philanthropy Chair, Recruitment Chair, and Social Chair... Favorite Sigma Memory: Meeting up with the rest of my Sp18 line SYZters at Convention for the 25th anniversary of Sigma! They are such passionate women, and despite coming from different geographic locations and backgrounds, we are all bonded in the same Sigma values. (Subtle flex, but I also LOVED hosting Philadelphia Council member Helen Gym for MARR 2020, where she spoke with us about civic engagement!) Future Plans: This summer, I will be interning for Penguin Random House Publishing and continuing my three year term as a Board of Education trustee in my hometown. I plan to go into the entertainment industry, where I hope to be able to use my skillset to create a platform to elevate marginalized voices and empower others. Advice: Always push yourself outside of your comfort zone! You are capable of more than you ever think you are. Be brave, bold, and courageous in pursuit of what sets your heart on fire.
