One last burst of fall frames these beautiful sliding doors as we move into the winter season.
Did you know Sapele wood has a medium hardness, with a Janka rating of 1510 lbf (pounds of force). It is harder than many North American hardwoods, and it’s almost twice as hard as genuine mahogany.
Wishing our clients, coworkers, friends, and family a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Sliding barn stall doors not only save space in an equestrian facility, they are stylish too!
Create an inviting and peaceful equestrian space with colorful Dutch doors.
Sapele mahogany was used for its superior stability in these large exterior sliding barn doors, finished in white to complement the style of the building. Learn more about our doors at: https://buff.ly/37MCFwf
Earlier this year we crafted several different types of doors at this equine facility, including overhead doors, carriage doors, interior doors, and even shutters. All pieces were made from sapele mahogany with a dark stain used to create this popular color. We put our CNC machine to use to get the intricate logo placement right in the doors. Take a look at some of our work!
An interior sliding barn door can add a touch of uniqueness or save space in smaller rooms.

Common interior projects that use knotty pine wood are interior doors, furniture, floors, cabinetry, drywall framing, paneling, and countertops. We don’t recommend using knotty pine on any exterior doors.
Knotty pine is a softwood distinguishable by its prominent knots and gorgeous honey tones. These wood boards range from yellow to orange and even reddish, and they work particularly well for mid-century modern and rustic projects. Thanks to knotty pine wood’s warm colors and charming knots, this softwood is a popular choice for adding visual appeal.
Common exterior projects involving western red cedar include posts, pergolas, siding, doors, and decking. These barn doors are both beautiful and protective!
Western red cedar has been used for centuries throughout America specifically. This is not only due to its distinctive hue but for its durability, resistance to weather decay, minimal maintenance, and long-lasting beauty. Western red cedar is a truly versatile softwood that looks good while standing up to the elements.
Common exterior projects involving white oak wood are front doors, barn doors, and window frames.
White oak has a symmetrical grain that is typically long and straight, allowing multiple logs to be harvested on one tree without any significant knotting. This hardwood works well for both exterior and interior projects, and it looks great either stained or painted!
We will never forget.
Entryway door made from sapele mahogany lumber, which is wide and long with a very straight grain, giving it a very attractive and distinctive look.
The first wood type we will be looking at this month is sapele mahogany. Common interior projects that use this wood species are cabinetry, doors, and flooring. Common exterior projects are decking, siding, and window framing. We recommend quartersawn sapele mahogany for its better stability. Amos Fisher, General Manager

"We worked with Amos and his team on a custom sapele mahogany front door and trim for our home. They never made us feel that it was too small of a project even though they were busy with much larger projects at the time. We were impressed with how detailed they were and how they allowed us to be very involved in the process. We were very pleased with the whole experience... Our door is a staple of our home!" - Sarah B . Photo: Courtesy of ShadBoost, LLC

The Star Barn project will always be a wonderful showcase of complementary skills. We worked alongside B&D Builders, who removed the existing structure piece by piece, restored it, and re-erected the barn. We created the following custom pieces: star louvers (which are 17 feet point to point), Gothic louvers, Gothic windows with restoration glass, cupolas, doors, and corbels.
