Dog parks sound like a great idea, right? Your four-legged friend gets to run, jump, and play with you and other dogs in a safe environment. But how safe is it? Is your dog protected against infectious diseases or parasites? Are the other dogs? What can you do to keep your pal healthy?... https://drandyroark.com/cone-of-shame-episode-54-the-truth/

We always ask that you please do NOT use a retractable leash when coming to the veterinarian. In fact, we recommend that you not use them AT ALL. There are MANY reasons for this, with the foremost being the safety of your own pet. https://drandyroark.com/ode-to-the-retractable-leash/

*updated 10/19* To Our Clients, We would like to thank you all for your patience during this tough time. As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in our area, we are continuing to offer curbside service, as we have been doing for these several months. Please call when you get to our parking lot, and you will be checked in over the phone. A technician will be out as soon as possible to bring your pet into the building. ... If your car does not have air conditioning (or heat, as the weather gets colder), please let us know during check-in, and we will make arrangements to bring your pet in the building as soon as you get here. We understand that this process can be frustrating for everyone involved, and we ask for your consideration as wait times may be increased. We always strive to get each person in for their appointment at the designated time, but there are literal extra steps that we have to take to make this process go as smoothly as possible. In order to help get each visit in at the correct time, we are requesting that each person gets here approximately 10-15 minutes prior to their appointment. This will allow us sufficient time to get you checked in and get a technician out to your car to begin the appointment. Thank you, The Veterinary Medical Center Doctors and Staff

We prescribe anti-inflammatory drugs for a variety of reasons. Any oral medication has potential side effects, but we always hope that the benefits outweigh the risks.

Everett Veterinary Medical Center 11.07.2020

We do vaccines every single day here at the VMC. While side effects are common (transient lethargy, fever, inappetance, etc.), true reactions are very uncommon. Please let us know if you feel your pet is having an adverse reaction to any immunization it has received!

Declawing cats has recently come into the spotlight as a possible animal welfare issue. In fact, it has been outlawed in all of Europe and in several US states. Before deciding to declaw your cat, there are several things you should consider. Please talk to your veterinarian and explore all of your other options before making this decision.
