Tis the season for sweet treats, but before you leave a bowl of candy on the counter or a plate of cookies out for Santa, make sure these holiday delights are out of your pet's reach. Xylitol toxicity can be lethal to pets, so keep your Christmas merry and store the candy away from your furry companions.

Veterinary technicians are puzzle masters and problem solvers. They know life-changing care for pets is almost never a one-size-fits-all solution and each individual treatment plan is unique. Providing exceptional care for pets of all shapes and sizes, a veterinary technician does whatever it takes to fulfill the needs of each pet’s specific condition. #vettech #vettechappreciation

Pets can’t speak for themselves. Thankfully, veterinary technicians have the ability to truly hear pets in their time of need. Veterinary technicians are always watching a pet’s eyes and body language to understand what they are feeling, and to evaluate how to make them feel better in that moment. #vettech #vettechappreciation

It takes great physical and mental flexibility to be a veterinary technician. From gently cradling a newborn kitten to physically supporting a great Dane during treatment, their balance of strength and restraint is key in keeping pets comfortable and providing care with precision and excellence. #vettech #vettechappreciation

Dr. Jessica Romine, an internist at BluePearl Southfield, provides some tips on making that transition a little smoother.

We are pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Jennifer Kim to our team at VSEC/BluePearl Conshohocken! Dr. Kim is a board-certified veterinary oncologist who has been in private practice for ten years. She received her DVM from Tufts University, completed internships at Animal Medical Center and Cornell, and completed her residency at Michigan State University. To celebrate Dr. Kim's arrival, we'd love to see your funny pet antics! Here is a video of Dr. Kim's own mischievous cat, Norman Rat Baits! Norman came to Dr. Kim as a kitten that the police brought in with his head stuck inside a rat bait trap. He has continued his life of food-seeking mischief. Here's the naughty boy getting himself into the fridge.
