I wanted to share this sad news. Please share and pass on. Our Home where we held our fit club was stolen from. Someone took these two big units on Thursday night. Please be on the look out and pass on. This church would give anyone the shirts off their backs to help them. Please let’s help them find their stolen units!!

We have tried her workouts. Some of you have committed to them and seen amazing results. If you think it’s a fad, Give me 30 days and if it does not work you can go back to whatever it is that you are doing right now with not a penny lost. If you commit to a group, check ins, simple nutrition and 30-60 minutes a day (depending on program) and it does not work then I get you your $$ back. ... When was the last time your gym said that??

Due to a drastic drop in census over the last few months I have made a decision to put the physical Fit Club on Hold Until Fall. We will resume the second week in October. The day and time may change depending on the churches availability and my own. If census continues to remain low we will look into other avenues. Thank you for everyone who has attended in the past. I know we all get busy. I hope that everyone understands where I am coming from when making this decision. This is group is strictly volunteer and when no one shows up, I still do. In the meantime I will be setting up events and virtual fit clubs that I hope you will partake in. What challenge would you like to do next - You can choose more than one.

Why Runners Should Work out in addition to running DON’T WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE TO CROSS TRAIN So many of us only cross train when we have to versus being preventative, says Honerkamp. If you’re injured and can’t run but want to stay fit, you’ll have to cross train. But then you’re not used to it and getting into that routine can feel frustrating or daunting. If you’re already spending time in the pool or on the bike, though, you’ll just do more of it and it’s not such a big... deal. You already have your goggles and your bike. 3. THERE ARE SO MANY OPTIONS Honerkamp recommends pool running as the closest simulation to running. Other cross training options include working on an ElliptiGo or Alter-G treadmill, swimming, the elliptical, spin classes, outdoor cycling, yoga, Pilates, boxing, or literally anything that gets you moving. These are all great ways to keep your schedule varied and your body healthy, says Honerkamp. If running is your main focus, try to make sure at least 20 percent of your weekly workouts focus on cross-training activities. A friend of mine likes to remind me that the heart doesn’t necessarily know what it’s doing as far as cardio, Honerkamp says. It doesn’t know if you’re on an elliptical or swimming or dancing at a club. It just knows that you’re doing something to get that heart rate up, and all of that is considered cross training. Your heart is a muscle and it’s working that’s what matters. 4. KEEP IT HIGH AND LOW IMPACT Cross training doesn’t necessarily need to be low impact, nor does it need to be your easy workout for the week. So keep mixing it up. Replicate your running workouts on an elliptical, in the pool, or on a bike, says Honerkamp. You’ll still get quality work in by, say, doing a minute on and a minute off. Be creative. Add resistance. Gamify your workout. Just don’t feel like you have to go out and crush every workout because that will wear your body down. You can still do too much non-running hard stuff that can lead to overtraining. Source:Polar.com

Wanted everyone to see the latest newsletter. FYI I will be running the Park Fit program starting May 26th. You can buy in advance or you can pay a drop in rate. Also they have some great events happening. Learn to kayak at the Canal in July. ... Fishing lessons for parent and kid. Walking with Ease program that will be 3xs a week and is open to all levels and ages. Jam sessions in May at Charlotte Fay’s Main Street Diner ! ( sounds cool just to hang) Oh and let’s not forget the Mac and cheese And the Food Truck Festival that we will be set up at and looking for some volunteers to come hang for an hour or two through the day. Handing out flyers etc. check out all the great stuff coming to the NL Area!!!
