Washington First Church of the Nazarene 12.06.2021

WashFirstNaz will still have our regular Sunday morning worship live-stream on this FB page, "Washington First Church of the Nazarene." This announcement is for a denomination-wide global service that will be available online for 24 hours all day Sunday. More info will be coming in a few days. If it's like last year's "Global Service of Thanks, it will start every hour, on the hour from about 5:00am Sunday until 5:00am Monday. Julie and I will watch it at home in the evening. I strongly encourage you to watch it; you'll be blessed and encouraged! --Pastor Marty

WashFirstNaz family and friends: here's a quote that Pastor Marty will be using this morning in our online service at 11:00am John Wesley’s Journal has this account. October 6, 1774 I met those of our society who had votes in the ensuing election, and advised them 1. To vote, without fee or reward, for the person they judged most worthy 2. To speak no evil of the person they voted against, and... 3. To take care their spirits were not sharpened against those that voted on the other side. Our morning text will be Romans 14:13-18. The key verse is 14:17. See more

Heaven’s Basket is busy this morning! We have served 20 cars in the first 40 minutes, and our friends are still coming. This is an exciting team effort. WashFirstNaz family, thank you for being a blessing to our community.

WashFirstNaz church family and friends: There has been a recent positive COVID test by one of our church family members. This particular person has not been in the church building in the last few weeks. However, other family members have been in attendance. Following discussion with our Pittsburgh District leadership, I have decided to cancel all services at Washington, PA First Church of the Nazarene for the next 14 days. The current plan is to return to online services for the next two Sundays, 10/25 and 11/1. We will gather again on Sunday, 11/8. IMPORTANT REMINDER: if you experience any COVID symptoms, please consider seeing a medical professional. Feel free to contact Pastor Marty right here with any thoughts or concerns.

Here is a video of the entrants in our Alabaster Box Contest at WashFirstNaz. Church folks signed up to make an Alabaster Box of any material they chose. During September, the church family will vote for their favorite by putting an offering inside. In the Church of the Nazarene, an Alabaster Offering is received twice yearly, with 100% of the proceeds going toward buildings and properties in our World Missions areas. Kudos to these folks who worked so hard. It’s all for God’s work and to His glory.
