When we made the decision over the summer to cancel open houses for this holiday season, we remained hopeful that conditions would permit us to open our doors in a limited capacity for operating sessions. However, it has remained clear that the best course of action to protect the health and safety of our members and the public is to remain closed and continue preparing for the year ahead and our open houses in 2021-22. We appreciate your understanding and hope you have a happy holiday season.

In the interest of the health and safety of our members and patrons, we have decided not to schedule open houses for this holiday season. We plan on using this extra time to make long-needed improvements to our layouts and club facility. If pandemic conditions permit, we may hold operating sessions open to the public. If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us here on Facebook or on our website. As always, we appreciate the community’s support and hope to resume a normal open house schedule for the 2021-22 season.

While we haven't been able to convene as a full member body for about 2 1/2 months, a few of our members (socially-distanced, of course!) have been able to complete a significant project - converting all of our light fixtures in the N- and O-scale rooms to LED. The pictures below show a before-and-after comparison of the O-scale layout- the difference is astounding! We hope with the completion of this project, visitors are able to catch every little detail packed into our layouts! We certainly don't know what the future holds, but we sure hope we are able to open our doors to the community once again this winter. In the meantime, we hope every is staying safe and healthy!

In accordance with the recommendations made by the government, we have suspended all club work nights and business meetings indefinitely. About a month ago, we had the pleasure of hosting a meet and greet with ScaleTrains.com, a popular manufacturer of HO- and N-Scale model trains. Shane Wilson, the president of the company, and Drayton Blackgrove, ScaleTrains.com’s Social Media Marketer, shared a video documenting How Model Trains Are Made and explained how the company was founded in 2015. They also showed off several new models they will be releasing in the near future. After this program, our members sho...wed the gentlemen around the club, walking them through our four layouts (N, HO, O 2-rail, and O 3-rail). Everett Kaetzel, one of our members that enjoys HO Scale, brought several of his ScaleTrains.com Union Pacific locomotives to the event, and was featured as part of ScaleTrains.com's YouTube video documenting their visit to our club. We would very much like to thank all those who visited the club during our holiday open houses. We find great joy in opening our doors to the community each year and we look forward to next year!
