Landlord-Tenant Eviction Mediation Program In an effort to keep Monroe County residents in their homes, Pocono Mountains United Way has launched the new Landlord-Tenant Eviction Mediation Program. The program is free, voluntary and confidential. The mediation process benefits both landlords and tenants as the mediator helps them to work together to reach an agreement to avoid a costly eviction. At this time, mediations are limited to tenants with incomes below 200% of the Fed...eral Poverty Level and have been economically impacted by the Covid-19 crisis. To be eligible for the rent relief program, renters must be a resident of Monroe County at the time of application. All tenants must be able to document at least a 30% reduction in annual income since March 1, 2020 related to COVID-19, or unemployment beginning on or after March 1st according to program guidelines. Applications MUST be dropped off at the PMUW office or postmarked by November 4, 2020.
