Release the burden. Can you care? Yes! Can you try to create happiness for someone else? Sure thing! But are you in charge? Nope. Happiness is our own responsibility. It’s the result of our own work. Life is not fair to everyone, agreed. Some people will have easier lives and therefore, happiness may feel more accessible. Totally agree. But I’ve met people who have little to nothing and seem happier than those who have plenty. ... We all get to define what happiness looks like, what it feels like and how we achieve it. Therefore, someone else cannot possibly be fully responsible for your happiness! And you cannot carry the burden of trying to make everyone else happy. Release the burden. It could help to ask yourself, is my cup full enough? or, am I feeling happy today?, before rushing to make another happy. It could help to prepare yourself first- when trying to make someone else happy, be mindful that your happiness and their happiness might look different. Your efforts may not be what that person necessarily needs. You might also try asking yourself if the other party is doing anything for their happiness and well being. If not, you may get exhausted from carrying their full load. If they are trying, there could be a bigger reward for the both of you! Think about a time you were extremely happy. Was it due to someone else taking care of it, or was it because you contributed to most of it? Let’s help one another, not control. Let our happiness be contagious, not in charge. Let’s grow our individual selves, not carry the burden of all. #yogology #healingwithintention #mindbodywellness #happiness #releasetheburden #bewellphilly #feelinggood #phillytherapy #mentalhealth See more

The chains of shame and guilt can become so heavy that our lives fill with eternal punishment. That punishment can take the shape of anger, self-harm, low self-esteem, lack of compassion for self and others, loss of relationships, and mental/physical health issues. Those chains are really really heavy. Forgiveness is the key to unlocking those chains. It’s essential to forgive in order to free yourself. Life has to go on no matter what decisions you or I have made. Are yo...u going to live a fulfilling and heartfelt life, or one in which you’re chained down? It isn’t easy to forgive. Sometimes we must forgive even when we are still in pain. Sometimes we must forgive even when the suffering doesn’t make sense or feel fair. Forgiving isn’t forgetting and forgiving isn’t excusing the wrongdoing. Forgiving doesn’t make the issue at hand, right or just. Forgiving doesn’t mean that this should have happened. Rather, forgiving is the deep understanding that it did happen and bad things can happen to anyone. Forgive to relieve the suffering. Forgive them. Forgive your body. Forgive their mistakes. Forgive your flaws. Forgive the pain and suffering. Forgive to feel free. *I read/heard this quote somewhere and jotted it down because it moved me. I cannot remember when or from where but these are my thoughts it provoked. #yogology #healingwithintention #mindbodywellness #phillywellness #bewellphilly #phillytherapy #mentalhealth #forgiveness #feelinggood

Mental health is beyond important right now. Some of us are feeling anxious, sitting in that place of unknown, wondering what our future will look like. It’s hard to sit patiently when so much is at stake. It’s hard to wait. It’s hard not to control this chaos and to convince everybody what’s right when there are so many opposing views on the definition of right. It’s sad and aggravating. I feel you. Let us breathe, together. Breath: A universal necessity. A mental ...health reset. A quick way to nourish and calm your overactive nervous system. A slow-down of thoughts and worries. A gentle reminder that you are here now. A strength-based approach to dealing with stress. A loving break. A deep connection with self. Let’s breathe, together See more

Oh how thoughts can really take us for a ride! Try this exercise of turning negative thoughts into a more positive mindset. There’s nothing wrong with having negative thoughts. They are very normal and very common. Negative thoughts can protect you and guide you. But sometimes they can hinder you from being happy and whole. Invite in both negative and positive thoughts. Allow them to coexist and then see which one you want to sit in. Give yourself choice in thought. N...ot every thought is true or right for that moment. #yogology #healingwithintention #mindbodywellness #bewellphilly #mentalhealth #thoughts #phillytherapy #mentalexercise See more

Everyone needs someone. Whether you’re going through a hard time or simply need to vent, you deserve a person. A person who is willing to listen to your thoughts. A person who is willing to give a hug or a favor. Someone who just gets it and gets you. Everyone needs someone. ... And that someone can come in all forms. For some, it’s a parent or sibling. For others, it’s another member of a support group. And sometimes, that person you lean on changes over time. Everyone needs someone. You are absolutely worthy of a friend! You are by no means weak if you ask for help. If you would be there for your chosen person, you are not a burden. Ask for that hug without guilt or shame. Call, text, email. Let someone know you need them. Everyone needs someone. #yogology #healingwithintention #mindbodywellness #community #love #everyoneneedssomeone #together #bewell #phillywellness #phillytherapist #mentalhealth See more
