If you have students that need signed up still I would do that in the next day or so. HACC has 12 students so far. The application would need electronically filled out and sent to HACC. The written is Friday evening and the skills portion is Saturday. If you have responders taking the test please advise them to bring a light lunch and plenty to drink. A change of clothing would be recommended with another pair of STRUCTURAL gloves if they can. The grounds will be locked down during the test meaning there is no visitors allowed during testing operations and also students will not be allowed to leave. If you have any questions please feel free to get ahold of me.

Emails will be sent out today and tomorrow to every individual/ training officer about this. This is out of our hands and a very fluid situation. we apologize for any inconvenience as we are trying to get things rescheduled.... John

Chief’s: The Fire School will remain open business as usual regardless if the ETA’s main campus closes as a result of COVID-19. We understand the concern that some of you currently have about the COVID-19. We too are concerned and have the best interest of your department and your personnel in mind. ... We ask that if you have any personnel enrolled in a class at the York County Fire School and they present with symptoms of the COVID-19 virus, the Flu or any other severe illness that they remain home and NOT come to class. We will work with you and your personnel on a case by case basis for any make ups if needed with a valid Dr’s note. As we focus on training your personnel, we will also be keeping an eye out for any symptoms and may send someone home if they present with COVID-19 virus symptoms, Flu or Flu-like symptoms, or any other severe illness. If we do have to send any personnel home, I will be in contact with that Department Chief and advise them of the reason for sending their personnel home and the options for moving forward. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. John Livingston II Administrator York County Fire School
