York County’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) is now accepting applications from residents who need help with rent and utility bills. This program wi...ll provide up to 12 months of rent assistance (past, present and future) and cover past-due utility bills, for qualified individuals who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. To apply for either rent or utility assistance, you must fill out an online application on CPC’s website at the link below. Help is available to those who need additional support or access to a computer/tablet. CPC highly encourages applicants to read through the list of instructions, qualifications, and gather the necessary documents before beginning the application process. Once you create your account in the portal, you may stop and re-start your application at any time. You will also use this account to check on the status of your application after you apply. Add this week’s blanket of fresh snow and it really sets the stage and gets us excited for the 2020 holiday season and a new season of giving. We understand that covid-19 has put a dark shadow on so many things for each of us this year. Hard times that have effected non-profits, local businesses, and families . We as municipal government are not immune. Covid-19 has caused a terrible drain on our budget and caused a disruption in our annual revenue stream which effects vital services such as police and fire protection. This is why I am writing you; we need your help and support. We need contributions to offset the cost of our paid fire department for the first time in a generation. West York Borough and Reliance Fire Department are a county treasure and are a worthy cause to support. West York Fire Department not only serves our West York community but also serves many in south central Pennsylvania. However, providing these services during a pandemic is challenging especially when the volunteer fire company is limited in its fundraising options due to covid-19. What can you do to help? We are looking for any contribution that suits your personal budget, even a dollar helps. Simply put your contribution in a card and send it to West York Borough C/O Fire Department at 1381 West Poplar Street York, Pennsylvania 17404. Community Progress Council’s Workforce Development Program is partnering with HACC - York Campus to provide two levels of free technical skills training session...s aimed at helping York County residents achieve the experience necessary to obtain employment in related fields.
