Did you ever think that you would end up where you are 5 years ago? When I started my career, i did not expect to be a salon owner or even have the amazing clientele that I have. Life always throws you through obstacles that you would never even expect. While I was working as a full time stylist, most of my friends have gotten degrees and have full time jobs with benefits, 401k’s, and health insurance. ... I knew that going into the hair industry, that I wasn’t going to be guaranteed a paycheck or health insurance. Accepted the fact that life was going to be a struggle sometimes if I didn’t get my ducks in a row. With only 7 years into my career, I’ve gained a great client base, met some incredible people, made relationships with some clients who I now look at as peers, and opened my own business. It’s all about the mind set, if you have a goal in mind, go and get it. YOU are in control of your future. There is no blueprint or timeline of how your life should be. Stop comparing yourself to other people and BE YOURSELF.
