Sunday blessings, fam. Reminder that YOU are BADASS
Hi friends. I’m taking a week off from outdoor classes. This was not planned and I apologize but I have a family matter that requires my attention right now. Thank you for understanding & I’ll be back on Wednesday January 13!
Happy Sunday! No Zumba class this morning stay warm & cozy and we’ll dance next weekend!
Sunday blessings for a week of good health: mind, body, and spirit.
First class of 2021 TOMORROW 10-11am at Olympic Skating Center! $5 or free if you’re having financial hardships! I don’t keep track of who is paying right now because of covid, the payment bag is across the parking lot from me, and there’s no judgment or shame in my classes... for your body AND your bank account. Sunday looks *very* rainy so I’m pretty sure (about 90%) we’ll only have 1 class this weekend
Zumba Fitness Saturday & Sunday 10-11am at Olympic Skating Center: OUTDOORS in parking lot masks required before & after class limited to 25 students 13’x16’ personal space These classes are for current students *only*- no new students at this time due to limited class sizes. ... I want to say a couple of things. I’ve been lucky to have the support of Mac & Tammy to teach in their parking lot throughout the pandemic. They have cleared leaves, roped off traffic, and every single time I’ve asked if I could teach they’ve replied ‘please do!’ Most of you know I consider them extended family (we’ve been a team for 10+ years) and under the renewed mitigation executive order, the skate rink is closed again. I’m asking for you to pray for them and offer support by way of kind messages, buying skates for holiday gifts, anything you think of. I have many friends in the fitness business. A handful lost their jobs Wednesday (even before renewed restrictions) due to group exercise restrictions & low enrollment at their facility. Pray for them. I have two friends- badass female small business owners who have to close their doors Friday night because they operate under the legal definition of a gym (both are fitness studios with impeccable standards that provide personal training). Pray for them too. Prayers and consolation are good. Ending the damn pandemic is better. Some of us don’t have the luxury of ignoring Covid and just going to work. Some of us have businesses and livelihoods that depend on successful mitigation in order to earn a paycheck. Some of us might not agree on the scope of legislative mitigation mandates. But ALL of us depend on society at large to stop transmitting Covid in order to not overwhelm our health care systems so WE can get back to work and do our damn jobs. Personally, I’ve lost over 80% of my business went from teaching 14 classes down to 3. My current weekly income is roughly my pre-pandemic income for a single class. I JUST WANT TO WORK. My friends do too. It brings me no joy to post that I can still teach (because of where & how) when so many people I respect and love are once again having to shut down. If you gaf about small business owners, gyms, restaurants, etc PLEASE do your part to contain Covid so EVERYONE can get back to work ASAP. If you care about these businesses & people, the most helpful thing you can do is stop spreading Covid so that EVERYONE can fully reopen. Protect the health care system. Wear a damn mask to protect others from your germs. Social distance. Stay home if possible. Apologies for the long post. It felt shitty and smug to just say ‘I’m open’ I hope that by sharing what’s happened to me & real people I know I could explain that a lot of us never *really* got to go back to work in June... and now some can’t go back at all until all of us do our part. No apologies from me for asking for prayers & participation to try to save my friends’ and loved ones’ businesses.
Good morning. Today is Friday, January 1, 2021.
Gratitude for completing this trip around the sun. Blessings of peace as we begin a new one. Onward, together.
Happy New Year’s Eve! I’ll probably wear Hanes couture (translation: clean sweatpants) and I’m leaving early.
