With all the stress, uncertainty, and conflict our country dealt with in 2020, it sure is nice to see something as terrific and heartwarming as this. Our hats off to this township resident who year after year goes above and beyond in spreading holiday cheer! We thank you for this fantastic display! It truly is remarkable.

A message from Salisbury Township’s Chief of Police. November 28, 2020 In order to address the Coronavirus (COVID-19 Pandemic), the Salisbury Township Police Department is enacting measures to safeguard our officers and staff so we can continue to serve our residents without interruption. Our department must follow recommended safety practices such as social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19. ... Effective Tuesday December 1, 2020 at 12:00AM until further notice, the following safety measures will take place: The Salisbury Township Police Station will be closed to the general public. The filing of non-emergency reports will be done by telephone by calling the police station at 610-797-1447 or Lehigh County Dispatch at 610-437-5252. You may also email [email protected] and an incident report will be started with a follow-up call to you. EMERGENCY RESPONSE WILL NOT BE AFFECTED BY THE ABOVE CHANGES. PLEASE CONTINUE TO CALL 911 IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY. Officers may ask you to step outside to speak with them. Please follow the officers' or dispatchers' instructions if you are able to do so. No hunting permits will be issued. If you intend to apply for a hunting permit, it must be done before the above noted deadline. We will continue to reevaluate and keep residents updated as information warrants. The Salisbury Police Department appreciates your understanding and assistance during these challenging times. We need to keep our first responders' exposure at a minimum so we may continue to serve and meet the needs of our community. Thank you, Kevin Soberick Chief of Police
We heard your concerns and are working hard to make our community as safe as possible. Our second fixed solar radar sign has been installed and is now active on Lindberg Avenue in front of the park. We focused on areas known for traffic issues and where pedestrian foot traffic was high. The sign has a bright LED display and charges via a solar panel. Last week we installed one on Lehigh Avenue in front of the park. We would like to put more of these up in our township on roadways that need them.
At 0444 this morning ESFD and Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company dispatched to Riverside drive for a truck fire. PD arrived on scene and advised of a work...ing fire. With the update from PD Chief 20-01 added an engine from the City of Bethlehem and a tanker from Lower Saucon due to the location. The fire was quickly brought under control by the crew on 20-11. We hear your concerns about speeding and traffic safety and are now prepared to catch every last speeder! Introducing the department’s new stealth speed enforcement unit, which goes from 0-60 in 1.25 seconds! We are confident that we will catch any and all speeders in our township, and with style! Thus far in 2020 thirty nine people have been killed on the side of a roadway while trying to help other people in need. These 39 people are mothers, fathers, sons and daughters who are first responders and tow truck drivers. When you see emergency lights, slow down and when safe move over into a lane further away. Tomorrow is National Move Over Day. Please drive safely and have a safe weekend.
UPDATE: Traffic is accessing S. Pike / S. 4th but being diverted halfway down the hill onto Normandy Street. Those who want to travel east on Emmaus Avenue should take East Rock Road. Those traveling west on Emmaus Ave should take Pike Ave to Normandy St. Very serious motorcycle vs automobile crash on South 4 Street in Allentown City near West Mountain Road, just north (downhill) of the police station. South Pike Avenue / South 4th Street is CLOSED in both directions. Utilize East Rock Road and avoid this area if possible. Major rush hour delays are expected.
