A message from Salisbury Township’s Chief of Police. November 28, 2020 In order to address the Coronavirus (COVID-19 Pandemic), the Salisbury Township Police Department is enacting measures to safeguard our officers and staff so we can continue to serve our residents without interruption. Our department must follow recommended safety practices such as social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19. ... Effective Tuesday December 1, 2020 at 12:00AM until further notice, the following safety measures will take place: The Salisbury Township Police Station will be closed to the general public. The filing of non-emergency reports will be done by telephone by calling the police station at 610-797-1447 or Lehigh County Dispatch at 610-437-5252. You may also email [email protected] and an incident report will be started with a follow-up call to you. EMERGENCY RESPONSE WILL NOT BE AFFECTED BY THE ABOVE CHANGES. PLEASE CONTINUE TO CALL 911 IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY. Officers may ask you to step outside to speak with them. Please follow the officers' or dispatchers' instructions if you are able to do so. No hunting permits will be issued. If you intend to apply for a hunting permit, it must be done before the above noted deadline. We will continue to reevaluate and keep residents updated as information warrants. The Salisbury Police Department appreciates your understanding and assistance during these challenging times. We need to keep our first responders' exposure at a minimum so we may continue to serve and meet the needs of our community. Thank you, Kevin Soberick Chief of Police

We heard your concerns and are working hard to make our community as safe as possible. Our second fixed solar radar sign has been installed and is now active on Lindberg Avenue in front of the park. We focused on areas known for traffic issues and where pedestrian foot traffic was high. The sign has a bright LED display and charges via a solar panel. Last week we installed one on Lehigh Avenue in front of the park. We would like to put more of these up in our township on roadways that need them.

Thus far in 2020 thirty nine people have been killed on the side of a roadway while trying to help other people in need. These 39 people are mothers, fathers, sons and daughters who are first responders and tow truck drivers. When you see emergency lights, slow down and when safe move over into a lane further away. Tomorrow is National Move Over Day. Please drive safely and have a safe weekend.
