A group of 8th grade girls and their teacher from the Upper Black Eddy School pose for a group shot during a 1938 field trip to the New York Aquarium.
This photo, though undated, is likely from the Delaware River flood of March, 1936. Heavy rains and snowmelt from March 17-20 that year caused flooding on most waterways throughout not just PA and NJ, but many northeastern locations, as well. This shot shows a rowboat in front of the Upper Black Eddy School, which would be destroyed by another flood not quite 20 years later.
Looking across the Delaware River to the Milford, NJ, mill during the Pumpkin Freshet of October, 1903. Up until the devastating flood of 1955, the Pumpkin Flood had been known as the Big One on the river. Note that the bridge is still a covered wooden structure at that time.
