Last night at 1159pm Engine 431, Truck 43, and Ambulance 431 were dispatched to assist Intercourse Fire Company on a building fire at the Amish View Inn and Suites Hotel. Engine 431 was first arriving and was directed by hotel staff to the third floor with a smoke condition possibly originating from the housekeeping room. Crews proceeded to the room and traced the source to a burned up motor in a HVAC unit. Crews from Truck 43 assisted with evacuations and ventilation.

Last week four members from Gordonville Fire and EMS completed a Truck 2 class with Gap Fire Company. The class consisted of 16 hours reviewing topics like forcible entry, large area searches, ventilation and ladder rescues (including self rescues, conscious victims, and unconscious victims). These tasks were completed both from ground ladders and the ariel ladders on Truck 42 and Truck 43 and were focused around commercial structures. The week finished out with a large drill putting all of these skills to work in one scenario. We would like to thank Gap Fire Company for hosting the class and Instructor Shapiro and his assistants for putting on a very successful class. Photos provided by students and instructors.
Another beautiful Fall sunset in Lancaster County.

We’re excited to announce that our (2) new Braun Ambulances are now in service. A special thanks to Glick Fire Equipment for doing a great job. We are also excited to announce that our Ambulance colors are new - the colors represent the Pequea Valley School District. Moving forward, all of our new apparatus will have these colors. We will now have a total of 4 Ambulances. ... We want to thank Leacock Township and Paradise Township for their financial support. Also, we want to thank King’s Acres for their generous donation of $20,000. And to all the other donors, we thank you! Thank you all for your continued support.
