On July 14th at 10 a.m., a proclamation was held at the Bedford County Courthouse to honor all Vietnam Veterans and to declare July 20-26, 2020 as Vietnam Veter...ans Week in Bedford County. Jim Hartsock read the Proclamation declaring Vietnam Veterans Week in Bedford County, as the cousin of Robert Hartsock, a Medal of Honor recipient from Bedford County based on the lives he saved with his actions during the Vietnam War. During Vietnam Veterans Week, local Vietnam Veterans and their families, as well as the community, will have the opportunity to visit The Wall That Heals, a quarter-scale replica of the Vietnam Veteran Memorial in Washington D.C. The Wall will be available for viewing 24 hours a day from July 23rd to July 26th at 440 East Watson Street, Bedford, PA. All citizens of Bedford County and in surrounding counties are encouraged to visit The Wall That Heals to honor and say thank you to our Veterans for their service, and remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. More information on The Wall That Heals Bedford County, including an exclusive video with interviews from local Vietnam Veterans, can be found on its Facebook page, or by visiting www.twthbedford2020.org. #BedfordPA #CentralPA #TheWallThatHeals #VietnamVeterans #VietnamWar

As we face this uncertainty with anxiety and genuine concern, I encourage you to remember the Society. We have been closed since March 17. Although we are closed, our insurance, mortgage, and other obligations still need to be paid. You can take an active role in keeping the Society operating behind the scenes by giving as you are able. Your contributi...ons as always are greatly appreciated. Be diligent and exercise safe social practices when you must be in the public. My sincere regards, Randy Hillegass, President
