To summarize, #Apple announced changes with iOS 14 that will impact the way in which #Facebook is able to receive and process conversion events from tools like the Facebook pixel. In short, Apple is requiring that all apps in the App Store (see scree grab) show a prompt to it’s users on iOS devices essentially asking the user for permission for the app to track them outside the platform in different ways. This ma...y look or sound relatively familiar as most websites with any form of tracking on their website push out a message such as: "This website uses cookies in order to offer you ..." ... then you have the option to select: "Yes, I accept Cookies" or "Change Settings" And the other important things to note, is that ALL advertisers are going to be affected #Pinterest, #LinkedIn, #SnapChat, #TikTok, #YouTube, and #Google. ? There are mixed reviews as to what exactly will be affected but one can only assume that this results in inaccurate reporting for conversions and targeting options will be weakened. - Get your Domain Verified. Not sure why Facebook considers this important now but it’s something they are suggesting and it’s a good idea anyway. - Not 100% recommended but you can avoid tracking iOS users within FB ad manager. - Focus your ad efforts on getting email addresses so that you can rely less on Pixel optimization for retargeting. - Leverage other third-party tools (which we do at 75 West) as opposed to being so dependent on FB Tracking Pixel
