We are open our usual 24/7. We ask that you wear your mask, wash your hands, and social distance while here at the laundromat. We are cleaning systematically. While your clothes are in the washer or dryer, set your phone timer and wait in your car. We ask that you don't leave longer than your machine is running. If you are uncomfortable coming in to the laundromat, we do provide a laundry service for $1.50/pound with a 10 pound minimum. We will also meet you outside and bring your clothes in, to keep you from coming in. We are here from 9-4 on Monday through Friday, and 10-3 on Saturday and Sunday.
If you are washing comforters and pillows, please read the directions on the tags. Usually comforters require a delicate cycle which is the #9 cycle on our larger machines. Allow extra drying time on the thicker comforters and the pillows. As for the comforters, please feel free to open the dryer and "unbundle" the comforter, restarting the dryer with the desired temperature.
We are open 24/7 which means we are open Thanksgiving day. The attendants and owners will be home with family and the machines will be available for all to use. Any drop off orders can be put on top of the lockers and they will be processed on Friday.... Thank you and happy Thanksgiving.
Revisiting why we use white vinegar in the rinse cycle: The acetic acid in distilled white vinegar is so mild that it will not harm washable fabrics; yet is strong enough to dissolve residues (alkalies) left by soaps and detergents. Adding just one-half cup of vinegar to the final rinse will result in brighter, clearer colors. Add the distilled white vinegar to the fabric softener dispenser or add the vinegar manually at the beginning of the rinse cycle.
Happy fall everyone...I think...I will miss the sunshine and warmth If you are washing blankets and comforters, please use a machine large enough to let the water circulate enough to get the blanket clean, And follow the washing instructions on the tag.... And if you are washing patio cushions etc to store for the winter, please allow them to sit out a few days to make sure that they are dry. They can feel dry but deep inside they may not be, and you will find mold in the spring. It has been getting busier as the year goes on. Thank you all for waiting in your cars and setting your timers to transfer your clothes or to take them out of the dryer. We are doing our best to keep everything clean and appreciate your efforts also. We cant get back to normal fast enough.
We are celebrating 10 years! Thank you to all of our great customers. Here's the article in the West Allegheny magazine. Page 10 https://www.alleghenywestmagazine.com/montour.php#2020
