While serving the needs of the PFS I intend to maintain my integrity ~ to live up to the ideal I set forward in my platform statement along with utilizing my skill set for fundraising in asking for donations big and small to support the society. I believe in the Philadelphia Folksong Society to the extent that I bought a ticket along with volunteer for the 58Th Phildadelphia Folk Festival. Why vote for Karen for Board of Directors of PFS? I’m dedicated to fundraising for PFS, I aquired not one but 3 sponsors for the 58th Philadelphia Folk Festival. I’ve spent 12 years plus, volunteering for fest in Groundz, Tickets and Outreach and other projects without thought of what’s in it for me? I volunteer for: LGBT Festival and Homeless drive, Earth Day Clean Up, and Committees. I have a Certificate in Non Profit management from LaSalle University and grant writing... experience, I’m endorsed, by international folk musician Joel Rafael and others. I’m an active social media advocate for business, art, and music, I produce a house concert series employing local musicians. Since retiring as a registered nurse I support many local concerts through PFS well as open mics with my husband Bob. I’m retired so I have the time to devote to the board. As a professional nurse, I’ve proven my ability to serve a diverse population and handle all types of situations that are thrown at me. The big one: No Hidden Agenda.
