As I read this article, my heart aches. Not just for the survivors, but for a world-wide community that now has to deal with their "new" history. But even more, my heart aches, for the gazillion times leaders have handled revelations of sexual abuse and assault so badly.

When fresh revelations of sexual assault by some renowned leader becomes public, the usual institutional responses are often so disappointing. This one is not.

This is deeply disturbing.

Putting children at risk, period. The senior pastor should be fired. Wonder what parents in his church are thinking.

Money, power, a sense that God has given them a special vision and everyone else is compromising the mission, a leader unable to take feedback seems to be rampant in our nation/world today.
