We’ve resumed our volunteer programming at our Arch Street office! Action Wellness offers a variety of volunteer opportunities from being a Buddy, providing office support, or helping with special events. Our next new volunteer orientation will be November 4th. Coming up: our next FREE COVID-19 testing event with The Family Practice and Counseling Network will be held on Thursday, November 12th from 8:30am to 3:30pm. The testing will take place at our North office, located at 2641 North 6th Street. Testing is completely free, walk-up or drive-up, and you do not need to be showing symptoms to be tested. No insurance or prescription required. You must bring a photo ID and wear face covering in order to be tested. Children welcome!

People living with HIV and other chronic illnesses face greater health risks with the Covid-19 pandemic. This is an emerging, rapidly evolving situation, and the CDC has provided a great list of frequently asked questions for HIV+ individuals in regards to Covid-19. Today, Action wellness is supporting Ryan White Clinics for 340B Access in conducting a virtual "fly-in" with Pennsylvania congressional delegations. We will be having conversations with Rep Madeline Dean (D-PA), Sen Pat Toomey (R-PA) Rep Brendan Boyle (D-PA) and Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA) to request their assistance to protect the 340B program and stop drug manufacturer overreach, including unilateral private regulation of a congressional program. The 340B program is vitally important to Ryan White providers in order to serve uninsured and underinsured clients. It allows us to stretch federal healthcare resources.

Did You Know? We have updated our rapid HIV testing procedures to help protect our clients during the COVID-19 pandemic. HIV testing will be done at our Filbert Street office (3990 Filbert St. Philadelphia, PA 19104) by appointment only. To make an appointment, please call 267-940-5520. Please note that you will need to be screened before your appointment for fever or any other COVID symptoms.
