We are deeply saddened to inform everyone of the passing of Dr. Thomas Haas. He was not only a brilliant veterinarian and a great mentor, but also a loving father and a devoted friend. He has impacted the lives of so many people, and helped countless pets. Dr. Haas will truly be missed by many. We have had some requests about donations in honor of Dr. Haas. His family is asking that any contributions made in his memory go to a stray fund at our hospital. This fund will go ...towards helping animals in need of emergency care. Donations can be made in person, by mail, or over the phone. Our contact information: Animal Emergency Center 395 Susquehanna Trail Watsontown, PA 17777 570-742-7400

This little girl is Ada! Ada was brought to our hospital when her owner noticed a wound under her chin. After Ada was sedated, the hair around the wound was shaved, the area was thoroughly cleaned, and our veterinarian placed sutures. She was given an antibiotic injection, and also prescribed pain medication to go home with. Ada was recently in to have her wound rechecked, and she is healing nicely!

Ernest is a sweet Basset Hound who was seen for coughing after being at doggy daycare. He was prescribed an antibiotic and cough medication. This summer, we have seen a large increase in the number of infectious respiratory cases and gastrointestinal cases (vomiting and diarrhea). Taking your pet to crowded areas such as dog parks, pet stores, and boarding and grooming facilities can increase the risk of your pet catching these illnesses. The good news is that with supportive care and the appropriate medications, these pets generally do well. If your pet has developed a cough or any type of GI symptoms, contact Animal Emergency Center at 570-742-7400 or your regular veterinarian.
