i know all of my followers & clients are amazing, but i just booked my 8th 2022 senior in the last 7 days <3 the way you all support me via word of mouth is humbling! I appreciate you all. that being said, with COVID majorly affecting my 2020 weddings last year, I have limited weekend availability this year - don't wait to book if you want to schedule with me! I'm so glad she chose this one, as this was a shot that I did & edited mostly for my own fun, but threw in her gallery anyway. The most special letter mailed to Santa this year. If you have any smidge of Christmas spirit this year, please find it in your heart to share Sandy’s story with your friends. Let’s bring a Christmas miracle to life & find a living kidney donor for her. Sandy’s original post (Facebook wouldn’t let me page share it); I’m at Stage 5 renal failure. ... My Nephrologist told me a year ago as my kidney function was deteriorating to go to social media to begin the search for a live donor. The thought of this stressed me out because I don’t like posting about personal issues. He suggested having someone else write the post, as it is very difficult asking people for help. However, I felt the need to write my own post- because.. well, I don’t like asking for help lol As most of you know, I’m a strong, independent person - asking for help is very difficult for me, but I’m not doing it for me. I’m doing it for Colt. I have to fight for him, I have to live for him. My kidneys are failing me due to Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). Pretty much my kidneys are the size of footballs and covered in cysts. I feel ok, except simple tasks (and work!) exhaust me. I have 2 options at this point. Dialysis or transplant. I’m currently active on the transplant waiting list for a cadaver kidney, as are over 93,000 people. It’s going to be a long wait. I am hoping to receive a kidney before I would need to start dialysis, however, if I can’t get a live donor, that option is not looking good. Geisinger has information about living donation on their website: www.geisinger.org/transplant. There is a screening questionnaire to complete to see if a person qualifies to become a living kidney donor.
