Meet Jevone! Jevone is one of our newer personal trainers over in Bala Cynwyd. While he may be new to AFC, he isn’t new to fitness! With over 17 years of hands-on experience in the fitness industry, he has developed numerous approaches and techniques for improving an individual’s health and physique. As a reminder (or new information if you’re new around here), we’ve got a private Facebook group where we post the recordings of some of our Zoom offerings. If you’re a current active member - search for AFC Fitness Zoom Group and request to be a part of it. One of our employees can confirm you and you can access all of the recordings we have. We were having some technical issues while we were closed but think we’re back to normal in terms of recording (minus those that are not recorded because of licensing).
We get a little competitive here from time to time. This December we had a gift card competition between our two clubs. Through a tough battle with a closure thrown into the mix, our staff at both locations worked really hard to compete. The Bala Cynwyd location won the competition and these guys - Matt & Ben - are VERY happy to show off their trophy! Congrats guys and to the whole Bala team!

Did I ever think I would bounce back...absolutely! Because it was a lifestyle I created for myself before and maintained. Was I disappointed with the weight gain, absolutely not! I was growing a life in my body. Did I skip meals or try to diet...no! I was mentally aware that in order to thin down, I had to cut down my ca...lories. Cutting out calories is simply just eating one less thing a day that you would normally eat, and staying consistent with it. You could eat all the fruits and veggies in your fridge, but even those add up to high calorie intake when you over eat. Calculate your calories according to your height and weight, then reduce it by 100, 200... Not a single day of cardio except 15mins on the treadmill to warm up for my weight training session. I’m normally extremely active. I’m the girl who’ll park her car as far from the grocery store doors just to get extra steps in a day. Little tips and tricks like this are so motivating in helping you get active and moving around a little more. The process takes time, and you won’t see results if you’re not persistent. And when you do start building a little muscle, you’ll only want to continue to do better and be stronger. It’s simple, if you think weight training will make you bulky...it will if you’re not changing your daily food intake! Whatever you do, however you want your body to transform, do it to a level where you feel beautiful, sexy and comfortable with! Work with the right tools and don’t look for short cuts. Educate and inspire yourself, even with cute workout gear!
