Flying Squirrel, Country Club and Turn Down 4 What are CLOSED for the season. They will reopen in the Spring. Reasons: 1. Safety. These trails are designed for... speed. The lack of traction during the last snowfall made several sections on both trails difficult to stay on the tread and not crash. There were snow prints from where people had gone off the trail and crashed by Saturday afternoon. The trails really aren’t enough of a thrill in the snow to make it worth it. 2. Maintenance. If the trails are ridden in this sloppy mess, they will need repair. That may result in closures during prime riding season and no one wants that. It’s still a good idea to avoid sloppy trails in the freeze thaw cycle and other times they are susceptible to damage. In the frozen and snowy state the park really is quite rideable, even if it’s slow going. Putting a mellow downhill run from upper Pool Boy through Jungle Boogie and Tunnel Vision is a good time. Thanks for understanding. This winter so far has had a lot more snow than we had last year. Let’s hope for frozen ground over the next couple of months so we can avoid the slop.
