Tuesday Teacher Spotlight: Hi, I'm Miss Heather! I have been at the AELC for six years. I started teaching at the center right out of college. I started in the toddler classroom and now teach in the Preschool 2 Classroom. My favorite part of the school day is when I arrive in the morning and I get to see the smiles and hear my name called over and over again by excited children! I live with my husband, two boys, my dog and two cats. On weekends, I love to watch movies, get caught up on my favorite shows or go shopping at Target. Something fun you might not know about me is that I collect everything "Baby Yoda" and Iron Man is my favorite superhero!

Practicing taking turns in the infant room today! This little guy is moving up to our Toddler One Classroom soon and his younger friends will certainly miss his sweet smile and laughter! One of the ways we ease this transition is to introduce our Toddler One Classroom teachers to the children in our infant room a few weeks prior to a child's transition. This way, we form a secure foundation even before the new room and new friends are introduced. This provides comfort and trust for the child and family. Big things to come as he will meet new friends and begins his next journey at the AELC!

We focus on promoting inclusion and diversity at the Albright Early Learning Center. We intentionally choose materials and displays that represent the children currently enrolled. This promotes their sense of community and understanding of each other's differences. This subtle, wholistic approach to the representation of different cultures sets the stage for acceptance and understanding that we hope stays with the children that attend our program.

Time capsules can be a great way to encourage children to reflect on the last year, who they are now, and how they may change in the future. https://bddy.me/3aWtriA #HappyNewYear2021 #HappyNewYear
