I am so excited to announce that the first #ideservebirthsupport class is tomorrow at 1 Pm ET. This is a free 6 week support group to provide mamas with the inf...ormation, tools, and resources you need for a healthy pregnancy, powerful birth, and nourished postpartum in this landscape and beyond. I want to create this as a safe space where you can get the essential information and answers to your questions that will help you not only feel safe being pregnant and having your baby in this time, but like you can have the powerful birth you desire. I will share the official calendar for the course tomorrow, but topics will include how to prepare for an empowered hospital birth, what you need to know for a home birth, helpful birthing techniques no matter where you are, postpartum mama+baby care in the COVID-19 landscape, and more. The course will include: - weekly educational video with me and occasional guests - access to a private facebook group moderated by Aviva and some of her colleagues (link below) - supplemental PDFs + video tutorials that come from my experience as a midwife-MD I will be sharing the intro class tomorrow at 1 pm ET on IG+fb live (link below), but moving forward everything will be through the private FB group. The group is now live: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ideservebirthsupport/ Important Update on the #ideservebirthsupport campaign: We are so proud of NYS and Governor Cuomo for taking the lead on safeguarding the rights of moms to birth with support, but this is just one state. There are still hospitals around the country - and the world - where women aren’t getting the birth support they need. So lets work together to make this an international campaign to protect moms and babies from potential complications and trauma. While we are hopeful that NYS will serve as an example for other states and countries, we cannot stop now.
