Special request to all you kids returning to school in the next few days: If you see someone who is struggling to make friends or being bullied because he/she doesn't have many friends or because they are shy or not as pretty or not dressed in the most "in" clothes -- PLEASE step up. Say hi or at least smile at them in the hallway. You never know... what that person might be facing outside of school. Your kindness might just make a BIG difference . Soon is our areas first day of school..Please remind your children that Bullying is not cool. Bullying hurts. Bullying. One word taken as a serious matter or a joke to many. One word and action commonly overlooked and never understood. Bullying happens to kids more than one may think or realize. Affecting children physically and emotionally, it is something that can be stopped. You hear of serious and traumatic stories, and you hear ones which you think are not so serious. Every case of bullying is serious.

As another school year starts best of luck to all the students and teachers. Please parents remind your child that bullying is not an option. If we live by example it will be easier to show them. In all situations kindness matters. Have a great school year.
