Allegheny County Police Department 29.10.2020

Team Foster is a 501,3(c) that raises awareness and money to provide service animals to wounded warriors. Today, Allegheny County Police Department's Crime Prevention/Community Relations officer, Officer Joe, was honored to escort this team on their 100 mile bicycle ride which began in Oil City, PA, from the Butler County/Allegheny County line to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall in Oakland. Allegheny County Police Department 09.10.2020

The Allegheny County Police Department's General Investigations Unit responded to a request for assistance in Stowe Township. At approximately 736 pm on October 27, County 9-1-1 was notified of a shooting in the 700 block of Broadway Ave. First responders found one adult victim suffering from an injury to a lower extremity. The victim was transported to an area hospital. ACPD detectives are initiating the investigation and the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office, Mobile Crime Lab, will assist with crime scene processing. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call the County Police Tip Line 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.

On October 23, 2020 at 12:12 a.m., Penn Hills Police and paramedics were called to the 200 block of Curtis Street for a male shot. When first responders arrived, they discovered a 20-year-old male shot. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died. Detectives from the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. Detectives learned the victim, along with two other individuals, attended a Halloween party on Curtis... Street. As the victim and the two other individuals left the party, they were met by gunfire. A Dodge Charger attempted to flee the area and crashed into a tree. This vehicle was abandoned, and detectives are attempting to determine the occupants. DON'T BE THE DEALER! The Allegheny County Police Department is participating in the DEA's "National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day" this Saturday, October 24th, 2020. Unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue, leading to potential accidental poisoning, misuse and overdose. A 2018 study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family or friends, often from the home medicine cabinet. Proper disposal of unused drugs saves... lives and protects the environment. There will be an officer standing-by at each of the following police stations on Saturday from 10am-2pm, where you can drop-off unused medications for proper disposal. If you would like to take advantage of the Take Back program, stop by one of the police stations located at... North- ACPD District 3, 700 West Ridge Rd, (ground floor) Allison Park, PA 15101. Allegheny County Police Department 19.09.2020

The Allegheny County Police Department's Homicide Unit responded to a request for assistance in Edgewood. At approximately 11:25 am on October 17, 2020, County 9-1-1 was notified of an unresponsive male in the 1700 block of S. Braddock Ave. First responders found the same. The victim, an adult male, was pronounced dead on scene. At this time, no foul play is suspected. Homicide detectives are initiating the investigation.
