"Mikey is doing excellent with his telehealth therapy. He is doing so well with speech therapy, that when he had a Zoom meeting with Santa, he was able to TELL Santa everything on his list!!! This is the best present since hearing him say "Mommy" for the first time at 4 1/2 years old. We owe our big moments to the therapists at Heinz Rehab Center." Proud Mom, Nikki, sharing some updates on Mikey's progress in therapy. Nikki opted to continue Mikey's speech therapy during the ...pandemic by utilizing Allied Services telehealth therapy program. "I am highly impressed with the way Allied Service is able to accommodate us. I’m also very impressed by how the therapists know how to engage our children virtually just as if they were in person. I’m very grateful we can still get our therapies and stay safe right now." If there are parents who would like to learn more about telehealth therapy from a parent's perspective, Nikki is happy to speak with them. Companionship, support and a chance to live at home. For seniors or people with chronic illness or a disability, regular visits from a Direct Care Worker can make all the difference to their quality of life. Help with grooming, homemaker services and other daily activities can make it possible for someone to remain in their home and allow them to live safely and independently. Direct Care Workers also provide companionship, something we probably all appreciate now, more than... ever. For many of the people we serve, our In-Home Services staff is their only link to the outside world. I know that our staff take that responsibility to heart and go that extra mile to make sure that our consumers are cared for and safe. While so much has changed due to the pandemic that commitment has remained the same and I couldn’t be prouder of our team. Tracy Hunt, Assistant Vice President, In-Home Services.
