We need to put new water main into service in Lakemont today (Monday December 7th). The affected homes are tapped on Wharton Ave between Focht St and Spruce St. Those customers can expect an interruption in water service for several hours today while we are working. Because the work will cause a temporary loss in positive water pressure, those customers are also under a Boil Water Advisory until further notice, as a precautionary measure. (Any time we have a loss of positiv...e water pressure, there is a chance that contamination could enter the system, so we collect and test multiple water samples to make sure the water is safe.) If you are an affected customer and we have your phone number on file, you should have received voice and/or text messages this morning. We will call and text again, and we will update this website, when all of our testing is complete and we are sure that the water is safe to drink. Testing usually takes between 36 and 72 hours. Visit our website at altoonawater.com/PN to read the full Boil Water Advisory, which provides detailed instructions and lists the exact affected addresses. See more

We intend to put new water main into service tomorrow in Lakemont (Tuesday November 17th 2020). This will affect 14 homes that are tapped on Leslie Ave between Parrish St and Focht St. As a result, those customers can expect an interruption in water service tomorrow while we are working, from approximately 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Because the work will cause a temporary loss in positive water pressure, we will also be placing those customers under a Boil Water Advisory as a ...precautionary measure. The Boil Water Notice will start at 8:00 am on Tuesday morning and will remain in effect until further notice. (Any time we have a loss of positive water pressure, there is a chance that contamination could enter the system, so we collect and test multiple water samples to make sure the water is safe.) Visit our website at altoonawater.com/PN to read the full Boil Water Advisory, which provides detailed instructions and lists the exact affected addresses. If you are an affected customer and we have your phone number on file, we will be sending out advance voice and/or text messages to you at approximately 2:00 PM today. Thursday October 8th 2020, 8:30 AM: The Boil Water Advisory for the Route 764/Theater Dr area is now over. All of our sample results are in, and our tests show that the water has not been contaminated. Visit altoonawater.com/pn to read the entire Problem Corrected Notice, which includes a list of the exact addresses that were affected. ATTENTION: This event affects mostly business customers and the Willowbrook Trailer Court. We will be hand-delivering Problem Corrected N...otices in plastic door-hanger bags this morning. Because the Willowbrook Trailer Court is a single Altoona Water Authority account with a master meter, we have contacted maintenance personnel and provided them with the Problem Corrected Notice. We do not have contact information for the individual residents of the trailer court.
